Last year, PA had a comic about in-game ads based on your browser history. Turns out they weren't far off. Microsoft filed a patent for an ad sytem that targets you based on the contents of your personal files and e-mails.

    To be honest, when you file a patent (ok I honestly have very little idea but let's pretend) you try and cover everything possible with your filing. So even if microsoft only intends to use your My Games folder as a basis of advertising, it'd make sense to make the patent as far reaching as possible.

    Regarding Vista being spyware: so what if you just use XP 'til ti blows over, or you use Firefox? I'm guessing it doesn't matter =|

    That's for sure. I know a lot of people who've been talking about that. Not to mention that Vista costs so damn much money for the privilege of being spied on and having all that built-in DRM.
