I never can understand why spoilers have such an adverse affect on a person's state of mind. It just seems like the journey to the end should mean more than the end.
Do you have a heart attack when you read a spoiler for something you're reading/watching/playing?
Climactic points, plot twists, whatever happens in a plot of something, unless it is a piece of pointless drivel, is almost always put into the work for a reason, and the build-up to it is also in there for a reason. The timing, what comes before it, what comes after it, they're all very carefully placed to have maximum effect, or to have the most ingenuity, or for whatever reason, but they're timed for a very specific effect.
A spoiler is taking you to the end, giving you the climax, without giving you the exposition or conclusion afterwards. Not only is the climax ruined because the surrounding material is lacking, which causes the effect of the climactic material to be lessened, but it also ruins the surrounding material, because you know what it's leading to already, there's no placement or timing.

It has never had that effect on me.
I read all the spoilers for the season 3 finale for BSG and it was still 100% awesome.
Edit: 1984 is the only situation where it might have mattered to me, but that's only because
I never can understand why spoilers have such an adverse affect
Snipped irrelevant stuff.
It doesn't really matter if you can't understand it. It's annoying for many people and human beings expect a certain level of empathy or at least respect (if you are retarded about these things) from other human beings. And the people that spoil films and books and whatnot usually do it maliciously, not accidentally, so fuck everyone that spoils stuff.

When War of the Worlds (Tom Cruise remake) came out in the theater, I was talking about it with some guy at work who'd already seen it. He said "man, it sucked, I don't recommend it, the ending was so stupid, let me tell you w-" and I said "wait, wait, I plan on seeing it, don't tell me."
He says, "but it sucked, look..."
I said "I know, but still, I'd rather see it for myself."
So the fucker looks right at me and blurts out the ending and says "there, I just saved you money."
I didn't really care about the movie that much but I very nearly clocked him.

Look at... oh, say KoToR. If you've played it, good. If not, get off the forums now and buy it and play it.
Anyways...
Look at the way the game is constructed. For the first part of the adventure, you are your character, wandering around, learning to be a Jedi. Sure, there are what appear to be cliche'd remarks(You've learned so much in so little time!) and what appear to be plot holes(Why don't you have any memory of before? What's with the force bond? Why do you keep seeing Revan? Why doesn't he have a face?). And you can totally believe that you're in a universe as some big hero that's trying to destroy Malak, who took over for Revan. You may figure out the plot twist by the time they give it to you, but only if you really try. Now, when they drop the bombshell on you and say "YOU'RE REVAN", it's a "HOLY FUCK" moment, because now these things make sense. And now the crazy cliche hero shit isn't crazy cliche hero shit, it's for a reason. And then you care about what happens afterwards more, because you're no longer an artificial character in an artificial world, you're REVAN...in an artificial world. You have backstory, you have motivation... it's an incredible story element. If you knew from the beginning of the game that you're Revan, if the game said "Hey, choose what Revan with his mind erased by the Jedi counsel would do".... the game would be much less intriguing. Sure, people play it over again to see what the other ending is, and because it's a fun game, but the first time you read that plot twist.... it's a huge experience, and the entire game revolves around that moment. If you know the results of that moment already... why do the rest? You know what's going to happen exactly before it does. The game is still fun... but the story is lost almost entirely.

how do you not know the ending to war of the worlds
I am, in fact, very sensative about spoilers. I also have the memmoury of a goldfish, which comes in handy if I wait until the next day to watch/read/experience whatever was "spoiled".
Also, not being a huge fan of a lot of popular stuff makes avoiding spoilers really easy.
Me: "Dude, Snails dies! He botched his save!"
Ordinary person: "...what?"

Uh. The specifics about the ending. They were somewhat different from the old version, y'know? And it doesn't matter, like I said. If someone says "don't tell me" and you tell them, you deserve to be impaled.

No joke, that's what he said. It went like this.
Me: "Eh, at least it'll look cool when the ape dies."
Friend: "Dude, what he dies? Why did you ruin it for me?!?!?"
Me: O_o
The best way I can explain spoiler rage, is the fact that you only get to expeience it for the first time once, and most people prefer to have that experience as intended (watching, reading, whatever) in the context of the story rather than see it on some messageboard or have thier dumb friend tell it to them.

He's resurrected as a zombie.
You joke but that actually happened in one of the sequels I think.

Actually, I lie. I look for spoilers when I can
If I care enough about a story to want to know what happened, I usually actively look for spoilers. Knowing the end doesn't ruin stuff for me at all.
i killed her and her death inspired me to make the spoiler tag

You can honestly say that someone can tell you all of the awesome parts of a movie and the end and you won't get annoyed?
You really don't think there's a difference in experiencing a plot and it's twists for yourself?
Have you ever watched seen a movie or anything where you didn't already know what was coming?
The only ones I don't know are
the other one is from twin peaks
I watch such movies all the time. Do you not rewatch movies?
Edit: Mis-read. I watch unspoilered ones too.
