Question: does Destiny Bond kill your pokemon if you take out the opponent?
Say, I use Destiny Bond to lock my opponent into Insta-Death, then wind up pounding the crap out of it... would it still off the using pokemon?
Destiny Bond is only in effect until the next move of the person who used Destiny Bond, not until someone switches out.
Say: Mismagius uses Destiny Bond (Predicting Waterfall)
Gyrados uses Dragon Dance (Predicting Destiny Bond)
Mismagius uses Shadow Ball (Destiny Bond is no longer in effect now)
Gyrados uses Waterfall (Mismagius is pwned)
Destiny Bond also wont activate if you die via sandstorm, leech seed, burn, toxic, etc.
Ah... thank you. Guess I won't go for that one then.
Keep in mind that in that situation, if Gyarados got faster than Mismagius, Destiny Bond would kill it.
Mismagius uses Destiny Bond (Predicting Waterfall)
Gyarados uses Dragon Dance (Predicting Destiny Bond)
Next Turn
Gyarados uses Waterfall (Mismagius is pwned)
Gyarados is taken down by Destiny Bond!
I am off to eat breakfast, but If someone wants to battle, I will be up for one in about 15 minutes.

I don't plan on using the bees.

Something like that happened to me against Tacofiend. I Destiny Bonded with my Gengar and then he used Agility with his Metagross. The next turn he struck first with Meteor Mash and took out Gengar and Destiny Bond kicked in. Neither of us were expecting it to work at the time. I didn't have a full understanding of how it worked though.

Thats true, I wasnt even thinking of that in the example. To be fair though, one DD from BulkyGyrados doesnt outspeed Timid Mismagius's so I guess I just did that subconciously
So I've been in the underground for hours trying to get an Old Amber to get my Aerodactyl but the only fossil I've gotten is Helix fossil for an Omanyte. Am I doing something wrong or just having poor luck?
gg Snack, my fists were pumping when you Rain Danced and my Kalecgos was sent in. And for Rexxars first match ever, he really paid off.
So your naming your pokes after things from Warcraft eh? I actually named my draenei warrior Gyarados, but only as a gimmick 8)
Malygos, Kalecgos, Alexstraza, Rexxar, Grom, Thrall, Therazane and Chen. 8 out my 14 trained Pokes are named after Warcraft lore. The names are just too awesome.
PS: Anyone not in the tournament want to duel to the death?
So I need some new ideas for a naming theme for my team. I originally had a pretty freakin awesome one, but after I ended up dropping Honchcrow (Darkwing), Jolteon (Megavolt), and Leafeon (Bushroot)...well, it doesn't come together nearly as well. I could name my new dudes with those nicks, but man, nothing really fits quite like a Honchcrow :P
So yeah, just throw out random shit and maybe I can make it fit with my new dudes!

But at least I have a more reliable move than Yawn. With Stealth Rock and Yawn, I'd have to survive 3 hits before the foe would either switch or get beat up. With Roar, it's just two attacks.
I know that timer balls or whatever they're called have a better chance of capture the more turns go by in a battle, but is there a limit? If I'm up against a legendary or something and use my Shuckle and stall for like a hundred turns, will the chance of capture be insanely high?

I wish it were Friday, no work on Friday. Work on Thursday in an hour. *Sigh*
Just when you could really use Dialga and his control over time, he has to be overseas helping out the Coalition Forces.

I dunno, maybe. That's a lot of turns. Actually, I think that it sort of plateaus at a certain point, so stalling doesn't do you too much good. I find you do pretty well by alternating an expensive ball (Ultra, Dusk, Timer) with an inexpensive ball (regular Pokeball, Mega). Seems to be pretty effective, for whatever reason.

There wasn't.

Destiny bond wears off when you make the next move, so no.
Destiny Bond is only in effect until the next move of the person who used Destiny Bond, not until someone switches out.

I mean, unless it's a sloooow leveler, it should only take 2-3 E4 runs to get it to 50, and that's without an experience boost.

Edit: Angry, I have a spare Aerodactyl, if you want it.
Seriously though I could have the guy at fifty in about 30 minutes, tops.
Also, if your name isn't Narian or mrsnackroad and you've already done your first match, re-post your results because I missed 'em.

in the event that it is banned, Cunty is my new name

Wait what.
What did you do?

You have until 3 AM saturday morning. It's all in the OP.

Yes.
Also, I think we have 14 and a half hours to finish round one. 3 AM Saturday morning.
Edit: I am up for any matches. I want some more experience.

38 hours.

There's more than 12 hours before it's even 3 AM Friday morning. You've got 36 hours and 15 minutes to finish your round.

he only has one eye right?
This is important! I need to give a nickname to a pokemon.
