Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Phalla
The Karma Terminal has gathered you all to this thread. Please register with the following syntax: I, <name>, shall destroy and devour my enemies.
Before signing up, please note the following:
- Only 15 participants will be accepted and the Karma Temple reserves the right to reject any registration attempt based on certain criteria. Activity is important in this game and the Karma Temple will reject the registration attempts of those that have been inactive in previous phallas, and this is to be fair to active participants. If I don’t know you, feel free to register, but be aware that activity is important and that others will depend on your being active. In short, please do not register at the Karma Terminal unless you can guarantee a moderate level of activity. And please read the last bullet point as well.
- As this is a small phalla, and as stated earlier, inactivity is not an option. The standard two-post-per-day-minimum policy will apply, but these posts must have actual content, and may not be “posting just to post†posts. I will be flexible here, but my point is that people will be expected to converse in the thread.
- There is no good and evil. The only morality in the Junkyard is to survive. There are multiple factions present and only one goal: survive. There is no village, everyone will have some fun stuff to play with.
- This is an experimental phalla. There will be special abilities and there will be a public vote, but it will not be the standard mob-kill vote. It might be a giant clusterfuck; we’ll see. But I think it will work out well.
- The Karma Terminal has rewritten some of its own processes, so while some scant knowledge of Shin Megami Tensei or Digital Devil Saga in particular will be handy, the Karma Temple has rewritten many elements of the universe as it saw fit for this experiment. Please do not feel that you need to have played Digital Devil Saga to register, and do not feel that this game will spoil anything for you either.
- Please do not be insulted if you sign up and I do not accept you this time around: this is a mini-phalla and I am playtesting these rules while providing an actual game. If the mechanics work out there is no reason I cannot host this again in the future, so please understand that I will be giving priority to those interested who I can trust to maintain a decent level of activity, and that there may be some point in the future where you can participate. Also, feel free to sign up if you hate me and/or I hate you, I will not be playing "favorites" in this manner. The Karma Temple only need trust in your ability and willingness to stay active throughout the game.
Other rules:
- I am very serious about this, and I want to make it clear up front: you may not share role information with anyone outside of your own faction. You may not post role PMs and you may not post images of any kind, including but not limited to screenshots, and this is publicly or privately (you will be on the honor system, of course, as I cannot monitor private communications). The ban on sharing role information is subject to change at some point throughout the experiment; the Karma Temple reserves that right.
- Sportsmanlike behavior is expected, and goes hand in hand with the previous rule. For clarification, you are free to argue and yell at people if you want, but throwing out OOC insults will be frowned upon heavily by the Karma Terminal and it reserves the right to revoke your registration and erase your data midway through the experiment. Likewise, providing anyone outside of your faction information about your role will be dealt with accordingly. Please do not ruin this game for others. The Karma Temple reserves the right to further clarify this and the previous clause at some later point in the experiment.
Game Cycle:
- In standard phalla tradition, each day will consist of 24 real time hours, ending at 9PM EST.
- Day One ends on Tuesday at 9PM EST.
- All special actions and votes will be accepted up to 9PM EST, and anything after that will be ignored.
- All actions will occur simultaneously; you will find out more about this in the game-on thread.
- All roles will be randomized once the list is complete.
