So I just watched Final Cut with Arse and mully and I won't presume to speak for either of them, but I'm in love with this film all over again. The changes from the previous versions are mostly subtle including, but not limited to a generally clearer, sharper image throughout the film as well as some subtle but effective changes in some of the dialog and some snippets of extra footage that weren't particularly important but I felt still rounded out some of the scenes nicely. I'm totally going to own this version.
i am so glad they brought in some people to clean up the visual effects

I know! It took them long enough to fix the scene at the end where the dove flies away as well as the scene in Hassan's snake shop and what had been glaringly inconsistencies between what they were mouthing and what you hear.
The "directors cut" DVD really sucks. It was a really early release and they never went back and ...fixed it all up down there... Another big reason I'm looking forward to the juicy HD release.
See also: Unforgiven, Road Warrior.. and uh... Goodfellas... though I think they finally released a "good" DVD version of GoodFellas.. my original one is a flippy (2-sided disc, have to turn it over in the middle of the movie......)
