Edit: Demo is up for reals this time
Gamers in the US at least can now download a demo for Dynasty Warriors: Gundam from the Live Marketplace. A European demo release is expected some time soon. In the Dynasty Warriors:GUNDAM demo, Heero Yuy must try to stop what seems to be a mysterious planet that is veering towards Earth. With the aid of Master Asia and fellow pilot Jerid Mesa, conquering the Mausoleum battlefield is just the beginning of what lies ahead.
“We wanted to ensure that every Xbox 360 owner has the opportunity to enjoy the perfect melding of the Dynasty Warriors signature gameplay and GUNDAM’s Mobile Suits before its anticipated debut,†said Makoto Iwai, Executive Vice President and COO, NAMCO BANDAI Games America Inc. “The online demo of Dynasty Warriors:GUNDAM offers a glimpse of the unrivaled experience that made it a chart topping success in Japan
I'm at work. Somebody download it, play it, and tell me about it. Let me live through you. Let me liiivvveee.
Edit: Game is being reported as not being up yet, but the press release came in today, with the demo dated for today
I played the demo on the PS3 a week ago. It was fun if short and the bosses seemed fairly difficult, but it's the first Dynasty Warrior game I've ever played so I may not be the best judge. The biggest let down is that I read that the deathscythe gundam isn't in the game. Who can say no to a giant robot with giant lightsaber scythes?
Demo IS available in the US now. Downloaded it and enjoyed quite a bit actually.
I like the control setup, but it took me some time to get used to as they are not quite the same as other DW games. Really enjoy the "dash" mode.
Not much to say really, but I'll answer any specifics.

also on the ps3 one was wing zero supposed to only have one attack? just slash slash slash upper slash. RINSE AND REPEAT LITERALLY A THOUSAND TIMES.
Welcome to Dynasty Warriors. Please enjoy your stay.
Im pretty sure dynasty warriors had 1) horses, and 2) it had more than just a 4 hit combo
like it had a square attack which was quick, and then the triangle attack that was sweeping and slower, you could put this into a lot of different combos, and really changed how the game played.
there are other combos, you have to combine the shoot button and the main attack button
On the PS3, Square-Triangle-Triangle means you win. His little beam blast thing tears shit up, and can pretty much one-shot all the mooks that it hits.
But yeah, I've never enjoyed anything even remotely like Dynasty Warriors. If you don't like either Gundam Wing or Dynasty Warriors, stay the fuck away from this thing. Otherwise, it's more of the same.
This game would be infinitely more fun if there was more than one basic attack button. The long range stuff seems about as useless as it was in normal Dynasty Warriors. I realize you can combine the two for more elaborate attacks, but even that doesn't feel like quite enough.
But, in any case, I like Gundam and a mindless hack and slash every now and then, and it seems like this'll be worth it once it's a budget title.
Oh, this demo finally came out? Nice, I really want to try it. I've always thought DW and Gundam separately were just okay, but the idea of slashing through thousands of robots with laser swords sounds really entertaining.
I don't want to sound like a troll, but seriously what the fuck is this shit? Its Gundam(I'm a big Gundam fan) but even I am not blinded by the fact that this is just Dynasty Warriors in the future with robot skills. What makes this worth buying/playing at all?
This was way more fun than it should have been. It took me two or three goes to really figure it out, but after that it was just taking out aggression from work out on those poor Zaku bastards.

I think it's for people like me who've never played a Dynasty Warriors game, but are excited by the prospect of playing as a giant robot that hacks 'n slashes its way through other giant robots.
Plus my PS3 is getting lonely with just Motorstorm and Untold Legends to keep it company.

I think straight-up action is what a lot of Gundam fans have been clamoring for in a game. Sliding Gundam into the established Dynasty Warriors franchise, which at least does what it does with some measure of quality, basically means that it can't really be bad.

Yea, it's good mindless fun. I'm not a Gundam fan at all, but the simple yet fun hack and slash gameplay is enough for me.
I'd buy it if it were a budget title. (Most likely not a budget title)

Still seems to be the same case.
I'm not exactly interested in this game, but it just looks like some guy posted fake news and it is spreading or the publisher posted it too early.
Didn't a demo come out on the PS3 last week?
It may have come out early but hopefully we'll see the demo up sometime today.

So yea, I guess that makes sense. Too bad they don't let you equip "parts" in this demo. It might have made a better impression with those enabled.
