Free Nintendo Wii! (Not a scam, guys, honest)

...with the purchase of select Netgear hardware.

I don't quite understand this one, but a coworker of mine just linked me to this Newegg page. If you click the PDF link, it brings up details of the program.

Changing my post, for elaboration purposes: basically, buy some 24+ enterprise grade network switch, and you get an iPod Shuffle or Nintendo Wii with it when you fill out their little form and send in the UPCs. It's pretty wacky.

What does Netgear think companies are going to do with these Wiis? My company has one, and we enjoy standing around playing Tennis and Bowling on Fridays, but thats about it.

Go play MOTHER3

or Brawl. 4854.6102.3895 Name: NU..

If I were an IT guy I'd order the $1500 router for my company and convince them to let me keep the Wii for myself.

Actually, one could just order it and just not tell the company about the offer and fill out the form for the Wii with your home address.

Maybe I'm weird, but I see having to spend $1500 for something that costs $250 to be the opposite of free.

You wouldn't if you really needed to buy that $1500 piece of hardware anyways, I guess.

There's this furniture company around here that keeps advertising "TWENTY FIVE DOLLARS IN FREE GAS!!! with every purchase of $500 or more."

If you are that hard up for gas, wouldn't it be easier to just buy $500 in gas? Instead of getting $25 worth of gas for $500?

Fucking stupid, if you ask me.

yes, if you buy a $500 sofa just for the $25 in gas, you are a retard. If you were getting a $500 sofa and you choose to get it from the store that gives you $25 in gas rather than the store that doesn't, then you are a savvy consumer.

Honestly, its not that hard to understand.

Not knowing a Calvin and Hobbes reference simply shows you that you do not know the joy one can get from a print comic.

No way, I'm sure Calvin used snow. Bonus points for authenticity. However, deductions must be made for the trail behind the snowman's head and for the lack of clearly defined gutters.

Also, as a side note, seeing Calvin and Hobbes referenced here made me unreasonably happy.
