What was the exact intervention policy that the Enterprise had in star trek the next generation? I'm trying to prove something to my friend and the google/wikipedia is not helping!

Hey, that wiki article is like 9000 words.

Besides, i can only rhyme out the Ferengi Rules of Acquisition.

    All 285.

What about the 287th Rule of Acquisition invented by Neelix in Voyager? Huh?

No, I believe that's the unwritten rule of acquisition invented by the Ferengi in response to Neelix pretending to be from the Ferengi home world.

I actually forget the exact wording of Neelix's.

Something about not interfering in the evolution of other species and cultures until they achieved faster-than-light speed.

thanks a bunch altmann, perfect answer.

I got the full text from a search of Prime Directive:

As the right of each sentient species to live in accordance with its normal cultural evolution is considered sacred, no Star Fleet personnel may interfere with the healthy development of alien life and culture. Such interference includes the introduction of superior knowledge, strength, or technology to a world whose society is incapable of handling such advantages wisely. Star Fleet personnel may not violate this Prime Directive, even to save their lives and/or their ship unless they are acting to right an earlier violation or an accidental contamination of said culture. This directive takes precedence over any and all other considerations, and carries with it the highest moral obligation.

Side note, I think the Prime Directive is continuous though all Star Trek incarnations. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure.

For a more interesting one, look up the Omega Directive (I think thats what it is).
