Running 3d Games (PSU or Heat?)

So whenever I run a game that is at all graphically intensive at full screen (I can run a few games like Puzzle Quest Demo in windowed mode but not full screen and games like Ultima Online have no problem) after about 15 minutes on the first round, the machine restarts. If I try it again it lasts for a shorter period of time.

This problem has been happening ever since I got a new motherboard, so I am thinking maybe now I just don't have the power supply to run games? (If you guys can tell me where on my powersupply the v/w label would be I can update this post tonight).

I also can not tell if it is the heat. My room is the hot room of the house with almost not ventilation or AC. Last night I set up my large room fan next to my PC and while my temperature gauges dropped, I am not sure if that was just the therm's reading the cold air being pushed at them temperature or if the devices were actually running cooler.

Also, if it turns out to be a powersupply. Are power supplies built in different sizes? Is it going to be a pain in the ass to find one with the measurements for my tower or what?

While power supplies to come a few different physical formats, 95% of them are a standard ATX size/shape. Unless you're running a dell or other brand PC with a small format case, you shouldn't have any trouble finding a replacement Power supply. Just make sure you get one designed for the power you need. I typically put 500W power supplies in any new system I build, unless I know it's going to be using lots of disk drives or major video processing, in which case I bump it up to 600+ Watts.

As for temperature reading, Case Temperatures or fan temperatures can be affected by the outside air, but CPU and GPU temperature reading are shielded from wind, so they actually give you the most accurate reading, and typically the most important reading.

    Oh. Other type of PSU.

Anyways, I had the same problem before when I was upgrading crap, and the problem for me was the Power Supply, so that's where I'd look.
