The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
Problem Solved. The signal was passing through a computer monitor, so I moved the router and it's all working.
I'm using a linksys card to connect to a non linksys router. The card detects the router but can't detect an internet connection.
I've tried running the setup CD that came with the router but that doesn't detect the card.
The guide that came with the router comes with steps to connect without the CD but they say in the properties of the wireless connection I should see a list of available connections, but on the computer I don't get that.
so any ideas?
edit: also my computer is only getting about 55% signal strength, would that stop it connecting to the internet?
edit 2: The BT tech people advised me to change the channel to either 1, 6 or 13 but it didn't have an effect

Have you setup the non-linksys WAP yet? Some ship with the Wireless transmitter turned off. You should also configure encryption and MAC filters while you're in there.
