Some pieces increase the flow speed and others do other shit too so hopefully it'll be more difficult in the retail game.

There's one key moment that completely sold me on the game, as it reminded me of moments from Deus Ex, and System Shock 2.
There's a crazed mother singing and talking to her baby in its crib. She talks about how horrible things have happened, but it's okay because 'mommy can take care of it all'. I scared the woman, she ran towards me, and I killed her. I walk over to the crib, and take notice:
She was talking to a revolver.
Thoughts of how this could have happened still litter my brain. Did she murder her baby with that gun, and treat the revolver as though it replaced the baby?
Open-ended, side-narrative stories like that are what will set Bioshock far, far apart from the competition. I live for those moments.

Recently my anticipation for this game had been dwindling, as I saw more of it I found it less interesting, more of the same game-play-wise, what not. Playing this demo changed my opinion entirely. The presentation is spot on. It's awesome. They are far surpassing Half-Life 2 levels of first-person storytelling, it's orgasmic. Hell, even the piano notes when you make selections in the menu is awesome. I played but a demo, and already I can tell you that I've seldom experienced something quite as impactful in a game as when I saw that female splicer talking to the empty baby carriage.

As far as I have noticed, the gun is only there if you scare her and she picks up the lead pipe from the crib first. The first time I played I attacked her right away and didn't get the gun as the pipe was still in the crib.
Hopefully there are more situations in the game like this where small changes in how you encounter a situation affects what items or rewards are there.
