I have a checking account that I can download a .cvs file from.

What I want to do, is to have a piece of software read in that file and then for each line ask me where it should put it and then I can click the proper 'category' like "Food" or "Gas" or "Internets"

then once it's all read it, have the software magically create a graph (or pie chart) that says "last month you spend $60.00 on Food and $45.00 on the interents" compared to last month which was $55.00 on food and $45.16 on internets. - etc -etc.

Anyone know some software that will do this?

i use microsoft money (http://www.microsoft.com/money/default.mspx) for it. i got a copy a while back with some dell or something, and i've been pretty damn happy with it. It'll do just what you said, and if your account supports it, it will even log in itself and just straight download the information. its got all kinds of graphs and reports, and a bunch of other useful utilities (like managing recurring bills and deposits, and then forecasting your finances, though its not always very accurate..)
