Perfect timing. Here I am, stuck in the Canadian Arctic with huge blocks of free time on my hands between helicopter jobs. Sure enough, I stumble across an engrossing, time-consuming MMO! As soon as I saw the reference to ATITD, I was sold. I loved that game, but it was too hard without knowing lots of folks in-game, and I just didn't have the free time. With Wurm, I have both now!
Character in-game is Cycophant as well. I'm currently in NewTown, I'm going to run through the tutorial on the wiki to at least get my cooking skills at a reasonable level. Once I'm ready to trek to PA's town, I'll hop on IRC and see if I can find a brave soul.
Also, for those in the know, what seems to be the most pressing need for our fledgling village? I've skimmed over all the skills in game, and they all seem equally interesting. So, what do we need badly? Cooks, smiths, miners, weaponsmiths, what?
If you can get really good at cooking or healing, we'll love you. Beyond that, I'm not sure.
I'll take at look at those and see if they're something I could enjoy doing. I thought we already had a few really dedicated cooks, though? Maybe I'll become the resident medic...
As it stands, I'm romping around NT trying to learn the ways of not dying. It's...not going well...maybe I'll be a zombie medic!
Why are people flattening the ground in the current camp if we are just going to abandon it? Have we changed out minds?
EDIT:ive been told it is just for practice, so I suggest we have a set time tonight for when we will have a mass exodus. I have to write a paper for my AP class, so I cant do it until 7 or 8 tonight.

I think so that people know how to flatten the ground when we do move. And so people have some relevent skills and so there wont be this soul-searching, "What do I want to do?" when we get to the new villiage--people will already have a bit of experience with how we're doing things. Those are my current theories anyway.

Uh, what? Where are you going to go to?
Besides, we're finding a spot as I type this. Calm down.
I was just suggesting that after the area you had scouted was the final place, that we would organize a journey from the current camp to that location to avoid every person and their friend asking "WHAR IZ DUH CAMP?!" Are we just going to post a map, and leave it up to the REAL outdoorsmen to find their way?
Rocks. Water. Clay. Flat Land. Remote but easy to find location?
Probably rocks, water, clay, iron, other metals, willows, pines, oaks, cherry trees, lemon trees, lava, flat land, thick forest that can be cut down for open spaces, and semi-remote.

I'm currently one of your closest neighbours, and i would like to welcome you to the game and the area. I hope your going to like both.
Quite a few of you have ended up at my place when getting lost, this is mainly becourse i'm building a road from my place (north) and straight south. I will try to help you the best i can to find the right direction towards then camp, also if you need food/water/healing and so on.
However i got a small request. Since i'm a bit lazy i often leave different materials laying around i need to work on the road whit, if you come across piles of stonebricks or the like please leave them alone. And most importent, don't drag of whit one of my cart (painted green)
Along the road i have constructed 2 buildings, named Sanctuary 1 and 2. Inside theres a large barrel whit water. feel free to drink if you need, thats what it's there for.
Hope this helps a bit, and i whish you all the best of luck.
Alright guys, listen up. Arcadia has been founded on the north coastline of the continent we are on. We are on a gently sloping plain that turns into clay beach on a like right next to the ocean.
The town is going to be two terraced, a higher plain further inland, a lower plain closer to the water (though there will be a cliff when we remove all the clay for mortaring. The token has been placed in the center of the village. Every row inland of the token will be on the higher terrace, the token itself and the rows closer to the water will be on the lower terrace.
The town itself will eventually be surrounded by a wall of some sort (wood or stone has yet to be determined.) Kazhiim has ordered that the town itself be industry/buildings, so that means farmer has to occur outside. Any fencing inside will eventually be destroyed, so will forges. No road building inside either, we all remember how happy that ended.
In fact, if you want to work with metal/stone/masonry, make nails, and get bricks/stuff ready for an initial wall around the town. We'll let you know when to cobblestone when the roads are figured out.
What we want to avoid at all costs: Statues of Demons, Dogs, anything. Cobblestone roads before they are authorized. Placing necessary but hard to remove structures in the town borders. Put the forge just outside so we can destroy when the town is done, and move it to where its suppose to be. Instead of tearing it down and rebuilding it multiple times. Same for anvil.
If you aren't helping level the city by digging/flattening, or feeding the city with food, you should be chopping down trees, making planks, and gathering clay/iron, making mortars/nails. This is our chance people, stick with it for a week and we will have a city and the leisure to persue high technology and skill in leisure.
Is there a trick to cooking that I'm missing? All I'm getting are tiny stews and casseroles that add a millimetre to my hunger bar. It's taking so long that any benefit from the food must be being lost by the time it's taking to cook.

You need to increase your cooking skill. According to the wiki, two-ingredient foods are actually better for that when your skill is low.

If you mean the paper, it is for a high school AP english class.
Where do you plan to exodus to? A random uncleared, beastie riddled forest?
This is stimulating gaming-I'm addicting to traveling. :P
I'm stuck thirsting and can barely move.
What traits are we looking for in a camp site?

You're drawn to my eccentric Brawl Code: 4596 9143 4529
Those, and minable ores. I think that covers everything.
Edit: oh, and preferably a long distance away from any other settlements.

Bring me water. ;-;
While you're at it, I'd also like a backrub.
Olive trees, too. And a marsh.
Foragable a strong pro.
Lack of expansion room and uneven as hell ground. Also, no clay.

@ NilZir, Seriously thanks for the help you've given people like me, without you I would have met one more bear related fate. Rock on.
I'm going to be making a big post about this later today.
