I can't decided what I want to put my other 16 points into. Currently, I'm 55/16/0, and the extra survivability and spell power from aegis is nice, but it seems like the other affliction lock I'm raiding with does more damage with destruction. Any comments either way on which one to go with?
Yeah. Your spec isn't exactly optimal. Try putting 15 of those points into destruction (bane and ruin, and split the 5 other points into cataclysm and isb how you like).
I really wish past 25% we didn't completely invalidate those talents (assuming you drain soul for bonus damage), but you'll start falling behind without helping your shadow bolt out before then.
End on
I wish that someway, somehow, that I could save every one of us

That's what I figured.
And, agreed. I didn't even realize how much damage they'd put into Drain Soul after 25% until I was watching 7 and 8k ticks on boss fights. o_O
Destruction leveling has gotten a lot better in Wrath compared to BC but you'll still spend a small fortune in consumables. It's more then doable to do your dailies and stuff as destro though just remember the mantra "damn the shard cost I need the damage". This is the build I normally have while world pvp'ing/daily'ing/battleground'ing 0/20/51. A common tactic I use with this build on a non-mage is is CoE>immolate>conflagrate>seduce>soulfire>seduce>soulfire>shadowfury>soulfire>shadowburn. If they're still alive after that then I'm probably hosed no matter what :-p
Well, I could see there being a different classification between DoTs and channeled spells, either explicitly or as some unintended effect of the code.
So I can safely say that destro is leaps and bounds beyond what it was in TBC. Between the healing of fel armor, imp. drain soul, and imp. soul leech, I never once had to drink on my test run, and only bandaged twice.
What glyphs should I be looking at as affliction? This is my current build
I am not going to post my gear because I am basically replacing it every day
Corruption and Shadowbolt are the two most obvious choices. Minors don't matter much, although Drain Soul is nice for shard collecting. I also have Felhunter in my third major.
I'm using corruption, SL and CoA currently. The shadowbolt one is probably decent, but I recently switched it out. I don't think much of the felhunter one, since I doubt it boosts his damage much.
End on

I was looking at getting the shadow bolt one and corruption gylphs. I was thinking about the shadow burn one since I tend to use it at the end of a fight

Wow. This is what I get for not researching my glyphs. The SL one is awesome.
Glyph of siphon life is awesome, be sure to get that one.
CoA isn't a super great glyph, at least not from the standpoint of maximizing DPS. It has obvious utility for grinding and PvP. Glyph of UA is likewise bad, if you have any measureable amount of haste.
Glyph of shadowbolt and glyph of corruption are both decent. There is also math out there that says glyph of immolate is better than both (again, from a PVE DPS standpoint), but I'm not entirely sure I buy that just based on reading the summary of the thread on EJ.
Eat it You Nasty Pig. on
hold your head high soldier, it ain't over yet
that's why we call it the struggle, you're supposed to sweat
I'm not sure on CoA's actual effect. Either it just makes more room, or it increases the damage by adding more of the larger ticks. It replaced my improved healthstone glyph though that I had as a placeholder. :P
I dislike using immolate as a spell though, since immolate has a really low increase on damage per cast time compared to shadowbolt, so I haven't really considered the immolate glyph. Also, it's not bound to a good place, so I don't use it a lot. I should probably castsequence it with UA.
(Edit: It took me a few edits to say what I wanted...)

I wouldn't use the Drain Soul glyph until they fix the bug where you wont get mana back, even though you have imp. drain soul. I haven't even got 2 shards yet.

From what I've read of Glyph of CoA, it does absolutely nothing to increase your DPS. You save one global cooldown and 300 something mana every 168 seconds. It increases the middle ticks, but all the ticks still average out to the exact same dps.
So, not all that useful, though it helps somewhat when you are affliction farming depending on what you are farming (assuming that your normal DoTs don't kill it within 24 seconds anyway) as you get very slightly more damage per cast (so if you are only casting it once against a target you benefit, but any target requiring more than one cast gains very little benefit).
Obsidian Sanctum's fun, though. We sent two groups in for the first time, mine came out in about 25 minutes, the other was in there for nearly an hour and a half. I'm starting to think our guild leader's trying to stack a group to get through stuff faster.
I guess it would have been more fun if you hadn't killed my guildies before I showed up, though. =P
The Obsidian Sanctum stone is almost as much fun as the raid itself, when two twenty five man raids show up in comparable gear show up the non-stop pvp skirmish is great fun, especially since the stone is just upstairs so nobody has a big run back.
I fucking hate people who treat me like some kind of glorified taxi service. After a while i start getting very passive aggressive and always start trying to position my summoning portal over the edge of a huge drop, or in lava or something like that.

also, no more debuff limit, yay.

I've had it proc three times tonight.

It has come in handy very many times. Lots more underwater quests this time around.

Your guild was hogging the stone at OS last night.
Don't let it happen again.

If only I had the money to gem it out properly.
I shall hunt you down.
Give me your chest piece! I have the golds to gem it!
also, rolled a 97 to get them, tied with the other lock, then rolled a 100.

The fact that I'm getting laid off makes me even more want to install WoW on this computer so I can like fish and whatnot during boring days.
