I think I've come up for the real accuracy algorithm in this game.*
Where x equals the nominal (i.e. what the game tells you) percent chance that your move will miss, and f(x) equals the real percent chance that your move will miss:
f(x) = 2x - 10
So, take a move like Rock Slide, which has a supposed 10% chance to miss. Run it through the equation, and you'll find that it really has a 30% chance to miss!
Moves like Stone Edge, with their supposed miss rate of 20%, actually miss about 50% of the time. Moves like Thunder and Aura Sphere will in fact miss about 70% of the time.
Sound about right to everyone else?
*Of course, there is perhaps the chance that my luck is just piss poor. In that case the algorithm only applies to me.

You have more than bad luck if Aura Sphere is missing for you. :P
I think the accuracy given are correct. How many times did you test them? It will take about 100 tries to get a accurate estimate. Even then, I doubt Rock Slide will hit 90/100 but will be in the range. Probability is rarely exact.

I know something was at least messed up in the GBA games. I was playing one and using Tackle at the beginning, and it did not have 95% accuracy. I missed much more often than 1/20 times and, this is the part that convinced me something was wrong, well over half the time it did miss it missed 2 times in a row, and twice 3 times. And I don't mean in the entire game, I mean right in the beginning before whatever it was learned something better.
All I know is that Rock Slide misses way too damn much for it to be just a 10% chance. It pretty much only hits every other time for me, particularly when I'm playing against somebody online. I've honestly begun considering just using 100% moves on all my guys and putting Wide Lens on them, because that seems to be the only way they don't miss against every damn thing.
I was going to make a new card, but my team plans change roughly once every 10 minutes.
Particularly I've been thinking about dropping my Kabutops, much as I love him, because he seems to be my unlucky charm. In his short career, he has been:
1) Dropped by a quick claw hax critical hit.
2) Slightly outsped by a Garchomp with a Choice Scarf (O_o) and downed with an Earthquake.
3) Hit by a quick claw hax Thunder (thankfully, I had this time chosen to add a Focus Sash, knowing his horrific poor luck) and THEN, two turns later, missed the ONE time I risked a Rock Slide, getting downed by a wimp attack that very same turn.
I think I've decided to keep him on board. I figure all this bullshit isn't really his fault.

Heh, that 28 Speed Jolly at level 100 had IVs:
4-29-9-22-10-1
Okay, the best I have is:
28-31-22-28-2-30
I'd reallllllly wish I could switch that 2 and 28, but it's still good to use right? I know lots of people make a big deal about having perfect speed, but I'll still live with 30 right, and that 2 won't kill me (yes it will )?

That's the spirit, live in your little bubble of denail!
Seriously, if you like him so much, to hell if he sucks. Same thing applies to me with Leafeon, I just wuvs him too much to give him the permenant boot. Plus that STAB'd physical Grass attack (out of only three good Physical Grass attacks) is too sexy to leave. Good Water counter since most of them have low Defense.

Sounds like he's the Donald Duck of your team.
I assume this is Kingdom Hearts Donald? Cause that's the only media in which Donald can go to hell.

Well, to be fair, he usually takes down like 3 guys before getting downed himself. He's a badass, but the way my team is designed, he should be able to sweep an entire team without much trouble.
But yeah, when he goes down, it's usually in a spectacular way. Spectacular both in the sense of HOW he goes down, and the sheer amount of cussing that escapes my mouth when it happens.

That could also apply to Kingdom Hearts, the first one, when Donald always bites it to whatever mob you're facing.
Let me put it this way: my luck is so bad that I've actually considered putting Knock Off on one of my tanks JUST so that I can knock off my opponent's item, because it MIGHT be a Quick Claw, Bright Powder, or Scope Lens.
I think it's a cruel joke that I have to keep Mismagius for the duration of this tournament. Gengar, in every form, is a thousand times better then her but I don't want to use him. I already have my sixth guy to replace her; a fully EV'd, ready to go Tauros that I have to stave away until I lose.

Cursed wins. Who needs 'em.
Heh, I'm trying to make a Trapinch, which is just an all around worse Garchomp. :P I still don't know if I'll use this one I got or breed more.

Stay strong, brotha. Make him as strong as possible and beat other Garchomps with him. Then, you shall succeed.

That's not true, Mismagius is way better at Perish Trapping. I have one stowed away who does that, and she is quite fearsome.

Or you could battle people like me who will never ever use those items. :]
Luck comes and goes. You always remember the bad times and forget the times you are lucky. This is coming from a guy who has had half his team frozen in one game.
You can spread the Pokerus very easily. Have that vulpix in your team and run/fight wilds. After a couple battles, you'll see it on all your team mates (best if they're close to the one with the virus, from experience.)
Hope that helps.
BTW, vulpix still looks like it's screaming "Do me from behind." I liked the old sprites better.

Yes. IV battle someone else after I fight mystic (I need two)?

Also, never knew Venomoth could be so mean.
Also, I think that algorithm holds for me too half the time.
Also, IV battles anyone?

I have phenominally bad luck.
Yay! That takes care of 1 of the 2.
I can do 2, actually. I have 7 crocs to test.
Also, note that my FC has changed since we last traded.
Which would be why I don't see you. :P I'll be on as soon as I fix it.
EDIT: Thank you mystic.
I didn't think that was even possible.
Also, I could use an IV check right about now, yo.

Sup Rio.
PBR or DS?
Now if only I could actually, you know, FINISH the damn team. Friggin work.

....FUCK thats what you meant by run....sorry...it was instinct. I kinda forgot about the fleeing part...
Forgiviness please...
I assume this is Kingdom Hearts Donald? Cause that's the only media in which Donald can go to hell.
Singers "Who gets stuuuuuuuck with all the bad luck?"
DD : "Wah!" (kind of a quacking sound)
Singers: "No one. But Donald Duck"
DD : "Yeah!"
And Darkwing Duck was awesome.

I don't recall you having bad luck in our battle.
1 is the best. You can always give Pokerus to the first one, anyway, so that shouldn't be a factor.
Hope that helps.
