Worth buying a DS/PSP?

Hey I'm attending PAX for my first time and I hear there are lots o' lines. I've been trying to decide if I want to pick up a hand held gaming system. (I do travel a lot but I don't know if I want the temptation of being able to play video games where ever when ever.) So here the the few choices I need help with. Do I go DS or PSP and why? (I don't want this to turn into an all out fanboy flame fest so if you could just share you opinions and not tell other people their opinions are wrong that would be cool.) So what are your favorite games for your favorite hand held system and why?
Yves

Easy. You get a DS because 3 people at PAX will have a PSP. As far as games, there are the standards: Mario Kart, Puzzle Quest, Meteos, Metroid Prime Hunters, Elite Beat Agents, etc.

If you do get a DS, prepare for wang, as there's no avoiding it (ok, not using Pictochat would be way to avoid it, but that's going to be nigh impossible).

Is it PAX <insert nearest future PAX here> yet?

Absolutely fantastic. I personally think the multiplayer can get a little stale after a while, but the single player ROCKS, totally old school with a 3d look. A top5 DS game for sure.

I enjoy it, and it's got a bunch of stylus-oriented minigames too.

The other great part about the DS is you could literally own no games, and still play download multiplayer for the entire weekend. Assuming you want to play multiplayer, of course. ;)

And if you don't want to play multi-player, you could ask somebody if you could download demos of off them. Here's looking at you, Brain Age.

    Fixed for extra truth.

To echo the others though, a DS is likely your best bet for multiplayer madness at PAX. Just bring a gamecase or two of games, a charger, and you're set.

Yeah I haven't really gotten into DS homebrew myself, mostly cause you need to go and buy that little DS pack thing. Since I have both though I don't really have any need to. Although playing PS1 games (along with anything prior to it) on the PSP is awesome, along with emulated DS games just to make people confused. (which is really hard sometimes :[ )

Okay this thread has verged into emulator/modding talk which is against the rules on these boards. Sorry guys but I'm gonna have to lock this thread here.
