and you have really bad taste, the first three Marvel movies were Average at best.
Dr. Strange is the first really good thing to come out of their animated movie line.
Bad taste...different taste, I suppose its all the same. 90% of comic adapted movies are shit and you know it. Cuddle up with a nice copy of Blade Trinity, some anal beads and a box of whine and make a night out of it.
Yeah because Blade Trinity is the majority of comic book movies.
Lets take a look at the live-action movies in the last decade:
Spider-Man 1,2 and 3. Hulk
Batman Begins Daredevil and it's totally different Director's Cut. Elektra
Blade 1, 2 and Trinity.
Sin City
V for Vendetta LXG
300
Superman Returns.
X-Men 1, 2 and 3. Ghost Rider
Anything in Red is bad. So, yeah. The majority of comic movies are actually, y'know, good.
and then there's the awesome cartoons that have been made, and the oncoming slew of awesome looking animated movies.
(Spider-Man 3 is debatable. It's not as good as the first two, but it's still a decent movie.)

hijinksensue I hope that your webcomic is made into a movie and every character is played by Abigail Breslin because Thor is awesome and Matthew Vaughan is a pretty rockin' director.
Also, man, Black Panther is pretty cool.
Black Panther never did anything for me. And I hope Jonathan Lipnicky stars opposite Abigail as the male lead.

By your math, 63% are good. That is a majority but it leaves 37% of crap to sift through. Spiderman 3 was a massive disappointment for me. I know a lot of people enjoyed it but I thought it was a shallow offering at best. They negated the flow of character development from the first two and spread the villains too thin. Thats just my take on it. I agree about the animation. Batman: TAS, Batman and Robin, Batman Beyond, Superman, The Batman, Spider-Man (90's Fox version), Justice League, JLA... those were all personal favs. Most of the content produced by those series was far superior to even the 63% of good movies you've listed.
Hollywood tends to strip comic characters of their subtlety and nuances. Overglitzed and overglammed.
That's because they have 2 and a half hours(At maximum) to fit in 30+ years of character development.
They have to boil down the characters to their main attributes.
Notice how the movies that are adaptations of one-shots or miniseries(Sin City, 300, American Splendor, etc.) fit most of the little flaws and unique quirks of the characters, because they don't have that vast amount of source material.

Well, seeing as they're superhero movies, and they still can't do special effects right today, yes the date should matter
Good point. I have a rip of the ORIGINAL Fantastic Four Straight to DVD Movie from like 94 or 96. The effects are outstandingly bad. The only time Johnny Storm "flames on" they replace him with a cartoon. No shit.
Decade, man.
Supergirl, The Punisher, Steel, Superman IV, Timecop and The Phantom were all made before 1997.
The Holocaust was more than 10 years ago too. Does that mean it didn't suck? Your arbitrary cut-off point doesn't change anything.
Yes it actually does.
In the last decade comic adaptations have become big business. Studios love them, and they are making many, many more than they ever have. They now have actual budgets and get more publicity than the average Hollywood Blockbuster.
The increased quantity of them means that there's greater chance for both really good ones and really terrible ones. Whereas in the past it was pretty much all terrible outside of the Superman/Batman franchises, and even they became terrible near the end.
So, if you take a poll of comic based movies in this renaissance of them you'll get a more accurate result.
Also, good job invoking Godwin's law. Everyone knows Nazis and WWII make an argument better. :^:

#2 what was sarcasm? what was funny?
#3 i'm not being defensive, you're just a hack
Just because you say something is a joke does not mean it is funny. Or even a joke. I could say a zebra is tiger because they both have stripes. But that'd be a complete lie.

Kevin Spacey was the only good part of the movie. Also, it makes me hate X-Men in that Marsden got to be more of a badass than Cyclops ever was (especially in 3).
I'll give anything comic-related a chance though. I actually watched Elektra, and I thought Daredevil was a good movie.
Frankly, I think at this point I like the V for Vendetta movie just as a big fuck you to Alan Moore.
That's right. Fuck Alan Moore.
If you don't want people tampering with your shit, then find a way to maintain intellectual control over it. otherwise, quit being such a bitch about it.
well, that's not the way the publishing world works all the time, sadly
and fortunately, he took your advice and now he'll only work with publishers that don't try and pump you in the butt for movie rights
aren't you happy now
Yes, I'm very happy. Good for him.
Part of being a commercial artist is having your work turned into movies. If you don't like it, fine, go cry yourself to sleep on your money filled pillow.
The thing about Alan Moore is that he will always bitch about everything anyone ever does with his work, but that's his own fault for selling out. He could have just as easily drawn all these stories on the inside of discarded Big Mac containers while living under a bridge.
So no one is going to write a rebuttal to this? Because it's all kinds of wrong. Especially that money-filled pillow part.
