August 14th (or 21st...still undecided) I'm making the move from San Diego CA to Maple Valley WA to live with my uncle and start my first year of college at Green River Community College. I am insanely scared to go and leave my best friend and my girlfriend, and I wanted some help figuring out where to go to meet people. I realized Maple Valley is kinda in the middle of nowhere, and I am totally willing to take the 30min drive to Seattle. I basically want to participate in activities that will take my mind off my girlfriend and my inevitable homesickness. I am going to apply at Gamestops and Gamecrazy's around the area to hopefully make some friends who are interested in the same things I am.
To tell a little bit about myself to maybe help you guys figure out what would be fun for me to do here's a basic list.
Music is my life, I don't play it very well but I love listening to it. Anything from classic rock like Aerosmith to pop punk like Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance, etc. I also listen to most rap songs that you hear being played 50 times a day on the radio.
I love comics, specifically the Civil War series, I attended Comic-Con every year, all five days for the past 3 years.
I'm a huge video game fan, especially when I'm in lonely or in depressed moods (such as I will be feeling in Seattle). I have a XBox 360, PS2, and I'm hoping to get a Wii.
I live for NFL football, but I also enjoy the occasional baseball, hockey, etc game.
But probably my biggest passion are movies. I see practically every movie in the theater that looks remotely interesting.
