So I'm being trained this week to be a package handler for FedEx Ground.
Earlier today, when I was being trained on how to stack boxes, my trainer completely crushed a box, and his response was "yeah, that's ok, these things have to go all the way to California anyway"
Here at FedEx Ground, we strive to ensure that each package reaches its destination not only promptly, but in the best condition possible. If a customer receives a damaged item, they may choose to no longer use FedEx as their chosen carrier.
I get 13 bucks an hour with no overtime for my microbiology lab skills at a food processing plant.
It's not terrible but not great either...and Corvallis is expensive to live in for the size of the town.
I'm seriously considering looking for a Job somewhere else in the Pacific Northwest...and now that I have friends and acquaintances (and family) in Portland and Seattle a move to either of these is looking more and more likely.
I get 10 bucks an hour slowly driving myself mad in my quest to make people pay outrageous amounts of money for simple services that I myself don't even perform.

I'm a flyperson. I make $11 an hour putting out printing plates on the presses so the pressmen can print the papers.
My boss recently told me that I might get moved into th plateroom, though, which I think would be around $13 an hour making the plates that the flypeople put out on the presses so that... well, you get the idea.
I used to drive the safari trucks for Kilimanjaro safaris in Disney's Animal kingdom.
That's right, we aren't robots (well... jsut a little on the inside )
However I had to return home to help take care of my family. Now I'm a nursing assistant YAY!

It's a pretty entertaining job. By that I mean the people that work there are entertaining and the job tends to keep you busy.
My favorite part of it is when I have nothing to do, I can just sit around and read a book or something.
Jordyn, you wouldn't believe the various shapes, sizes, and densities of the packages I have handled today alone. On a good day, I can handle over 400 packages per hour.
I handled, literally, a truckload of packages. They put the small ones in bags.

I'm a structural engineer.
This entails designing things and checking things. Often this involves ringing people up from all around the world including australia (or more commonly emailing them) and telling them quite politely that they are useless and don't know what the fuck they are doing.
That bridge that collapsed over the mississippi? That was a giant nerd-gasm for me.

Working for a very small high-end, luxury real estate company here in Shanghai, headquartered in the States.
Second day and I've already got so much to do. It pleases me.

No, I'm shipping some stuff from Comic-Con to my little brother.
