I've listed an item for sale on Facebook, and the first response I received was this:
I am interested in immediate purchase of your item, but before i proceed on this transaction i will like to ask some question as follow. i can only raise cashier check or money order for the payment of your item so i will like to know if the item is still available and also if is in good condition? Please your answer on this, will enable me to issue your payment to you asap 1. Do you accept a ( Cashier Check / Money Order ) as amode of payment? 2.What is the firm price of the item? 3) ! Will you let our shipping company to come to your house for the pick up of the item? 4)Do get back to me with your contact info where you want the payment to address to 5) Will you be able to send the excess fund bac k to the shipping company via western union money transfer same day you receive the check.
Absolutely everything about this seems fishy, but I don't have much experience with this kind of thing, and I just wanted to confirm that this is a scam before I block this person and report the message as spam.
I had a great one on ebay once, i was selling an old grey brick gameboy, and got an email from some guy in africa claiming that he was organizing a corporate event and wanted to order 30 of my item for the atendees, but could only pay by western union money transfer, and would need my address to pick them up in person (from africa???).... i took great joy in the idea of 30 african businessmen being impressed with grey brick gameboys
