House of Leaves, or: WHAT THE HELL TEXT DOESN'T GO THAT WAY

So, I just got House of Leaves (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/House_of_Leaves) and I just had a quick flip through it...

I'm worried. I honestly do not think I am ready to read this book. Has anyone read this and have any tips before I begin? Any mindset I should have, etc?

(Note: I haven't started yet, so mark all your spoilers please)

it's chronological. just read it straight through. Not as crazy as it seems.

though reading it on the subway and flipping it upside down every other minute does get people's looks
