My wife has been having a reoccuring problem, it just seems like this time its here for good.

Her mouse has what we've been calling, hiccups. Basically, it'll move for 1 second, freeze in place for 1 second, then catch up for a second.

This is her mouse:

Before when we had this problem, it seemed it was in relation to us having plugged in our Wifi dongle for our Wii and DS, but we've moved that from her computer to mine, and the problem persists.

Any thoughts?

I just tried reinstalling the drivers, which doesn't seem to have done anything. we've restarted the computer a few times, with no results either.

I've always had similar problems with optical... mice... depending on the surface it's being used on. Do you have a good mouse mat? I'd play around with some different things (back of a book, cardboard, etc etc) to see if anything makes a difference because it's solved my problems in the past.

Check the lens and laser housing for hairs. My Cat`s hairs always screw up my mouse, and cause similar problems.

Can you try telling it to reconnect, so that it will utilize a different channel for its wireless signal?

I am using one of those this very instant (at work), and it does the same thing. In fact I clicked on this topic thinking "I wonder if he has one of the shitters too."

I'm a fan of logitech, but this mouse really is the pits. Do a Google search for Logitech + 610 + lagging and you'll find it's common. My belief in Logitech was strong enough for me to ignore the little homework I did.

    Never again!

Hmm... So apparently the Wii Dongle plugged into my computer was the problem, the second I pulled it out, it was fine.

Either way, she needs a new mouse. Optical and Wireless preferred. Any recommendations?

    Preferably 4 button.

I have the exact same mouse, and recently mine has started to double click things even when I only single click. Not related to your problem, really, but it's a bit interesting, no?

This is what I use, and it's the greatest mouse ever. I will cry when it dies.

They aren't made anymore, but the new one is supposed to be even better, but is a bit more expensive.

The hero and protagonist, whose story the book follows, is the aptly-named Hiro Protagonist: "Last of the freelance hackers and Greatest sword fighter in the world." When Hiro loses his job as a pizza delivery driver for the Mafia, he meets a streetwise young girl nicknamed Y.T. (short for Yours Truly), who works as a skateboard "Kourier", and they decide to become partners in the intelligence business.

I have the MX Revo, and while I think it's an excellent mouse, I don't think it's $99.99 excellent. I got mine as a 50 dollar refurb, which is the absolute upper limit I would pay for goddamn mouse.
