Post Hex-apocalyptic TBSCG?

Do you like turn based strategy games? What about CCGs? Rolling for initiative? XP for units? Fudge dice and fate points? Resource collection? Item Creation? Supply lines? War never changing? (It's post apocalyptic)

What if I were to tell you that all this, and more, can be had in one sweet package? Would you pay 129.99 for this great deal? How about 99.99. What if I were to tell you, "You could get this package for only 5 easy payments of 5.99 ( If you make all the payments at the same time. In the same transaction) Now would you buy it?

Armageddon Empires is a PC turn based hex grid strategy game that uses decks for armies and abilities. Maps are randomized with encounters and resources. Decks are shuffled. Then you roll for initiative and it's go time.
I could go on, but this it's a strategy game. It's complicated. So... Links go here:

This is the game. It has a demo with two of the four available factions:

The Dev has a blog:

Somebody does an excellent job of posting a first time play thru of the game, with all of its flaws and awesomes:

Also, it have pictures.

Now, I've got an admission... there's no multi-player. I died a bit inside when I realized that... then I remembered I have no friends, and it doesn't matter. You can play up to 3 other AI's. They're awesomely coded to not cheat. Really. It's fun. And those AI apparently have 65 decks apiece built for them, so what with the random maps and the decks, each game can be different for reals.

Now while I personally would find it awesome one day in the future to find this game on Xbox live like Settlers, I'm not holding out any hopes.

( Mac version due out late July... HA. Mac users don't get to play games)
(Kay, technically CCG's not exactly the right description, as all the cards come with the game... but whatever)

This game looks really awesome. It's a crime against humanity that it doesn't support multiplayer.

The dice cheat! And you have to click too much! (And mostly I have no idea whats going on). I kinda like it but when I have 8 dice and the other guy has 3 dice and we both roll two hits 5 turns in a row I kinda get tired of the game.

Dice... randomness is bad sometimes... My Machine crew found the Empire of Man's HQ, and I engaged in sneaky sneakary verses those pesky humans. My espionager only needed 1 dice for success, and had 5 to roll. BOTCH. But all was not lost, I had like 4 fate points. I rolled four times. AND STILL NO SUCCESSES >_<
Then... I tried again the same round. I got a total of one success out of 18 total dice rolled. But is was still success... it increased the cost of all enemy deployments by one for a few turns, then my hero immediately got captured next round. Grrr.....

You had me until "No multiplayer"

    =/

If he ever adds multiplayer support, bump this and I'll impulse buy it immediately.

Good god. This is scarily close to the kind of game I considered running over in ODaM at one point.

Once you get past the horrible, horrible interface this is one brilliant game. Infantry with mini-nukes ahoy! And Zombie Launchers. My only real complaint aside from the interface would be that the entire map is really bland. Sand, sand, sand, city buried in sand, rock, sand, mountain.

Look it up on the main-site under "tutorial" (I looked it over & deemed it "meh"). Demo does not have any kind of tutorial, which is really odd (ingame text doesn't help much).
