Tennessee-Cal is at 14-14 in the first quarter. Interesting game.

Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.
Go texas, woohoo! Game was way too close though. Refs made a couple of shitty calls...if they hadn't reversed the one where they called colt's incomplete pass a fumble I'm pretty sure the fans would have charged the field.

This is the WORST Saturday in sports.
Seriously, for every Appalachian state there are 10 90-3 scores out there. Just stupid Saturday and it shows why college football really kind of sucks.
But Towson U won, WOooooooooooo.
They are in the A-10 with Appalachian St., almost made the playoffs last year in the second year in the conference.

Go Towsontown fighting Tigers of Towsontown!
Things might actually matter when good teams play good teams, instead of very good teams playing shitty teams for the most part.
Also roffles U of Michigan got jacked.
EDIT: I mean it's not like it's fun to watch when the Chargers or the Patriots play the Browns or the Texans, you know?

But the Browns and Titans have a much better chance than these teams do.
Its more like the Stampeders playing the Chargers under NFL rules. Or some arena team playing an NFL team. Its not exciting.
But then there is App. ST. and they get a win. They have won the Div 1AA championship 2 years in a row.
College football is fucked without a playoff system.
More so, Michigan's season is effectively over. No way they get to try for Nat'l championship after today's loss. How is that fair. A scrub team gets lucky and you are out a title shot?
Hah, college football is far from fucked. Sure, the system is a little wonky, but guess what? There are millions of alum's of larger colleges who will follow their college team for the rest of their life, and that's a pretty substantial fan base.
No offense, but did you go to a school where football was any sort of a big event? I'd bet no. Shit, I went to Illinois and we went 2-10 my senior year, but I still will be watching every game that gets broadcast, and be just as into it as an NFL game.

Lacross was my schools big sport, but m y Dad went to Clemson, so I know the rabidity of college football.
I get it. But I still think it is stupid, like why even bother crossing conferences like that. let 1AA play 1AA. Why does a football program like Penn State need to pad its schedule with a team they know they will beat 900-3?
Why should Michigan even risk being embarrassed like that? Why does Notre Dame get to play the 3 service academies on consecutive weeks in the same season and STILL qualify for the BCS?

Pretty much. There will be plenty of other teams that played a clean season and didn't manage to humiliate themselves, and in a system where there are so many teams they're the ones that should get the shot at the title.

Title shot for PAC 10 and SEC
everyone else needs to be not only perfect but win all their games comfortably and not show any weakness whatsoever.
And then there is Notre Dame, who could go undefeated playing high school JV squads but would still be in the Nat'l championship picture because they are Notre Dame.

Some parts are strange, yeah, but everyone knows these games are what preseason is to the NFL for the most part. Except you, Michigan, haha. Anyhow though, when you get into inter-conference play, things get pretty nuts.

Yeah. I hear ya. I just feel the whole system is very biased in favor of larger programs in glory divisions. How many times does Auburn have to get snubbed? How many big games does Notre Dame have to lose before people realize that they are not what they used to be, and if they were forced into a conference they would SUCK?
Teams in the Big East or WAC or ACC or whatever really have no chance whatsoever. They have to be absolutely perfect in every facet of the game to even have a shot at the nat'l championship.
College football would be great if they: 1) got rid of interconference play 2) instituted some sort of legit playoff system.

Hell no! HELL NO. Interconference play is the best, the best, the best. Man, down in Champaign, when OSU, Michigan, Wisconsin, PSU, who the hell ever came to town, be it for football or basketball, we got pumped. Interconference rivalries are a huge part of college sports. Granted, it might make it a bit tougher to do a national championship sort of deal, but I don't think they do too bad. But you're fucking nuts if you think they should get rid of conference play.

I do fucking hate Notre Dame but I'm not entirely sure why. Something about that school bugs the hell out of me.
So you mean to say if I enroll in any institution of higher learning I may encounter less then savory characters?
And here I was thinking Yale and Notre Dame were filled with nothing but kind hearted and upstanding blue bloods and christians. Guess I should hate the whole filthy lot now.

Oh Dex and Red. I judge everyone I meet individually with the same set of standards as I'd judge a fellow UIUC alum. I know a few cool people from Michigan, as well as a couple guys I like from OSU (though I have not yet met an ND alumnus that I enjoyed talking to, I am sure they are out there).
On the other hand, there are certain characteristics I've noticed more prevalently in certain universities than others, for sure.
Yes and I'm sure that the rich kids from whatever more affluent local town then yours displayed certain characteristics as well. Theres going to be an exception for whatever stupid generalization you make for any ethnic/racial/social group you can think of, so don't even fucking bother.

Ole Miss is kind of the snobby-preppy-faggot college in Mississippi. It's pretty standard that most of the guys there on game-day wear shirt and tie, dress pants, flip flops and a visor.
Ole Miss also has refused for years to play Southern Miss (my college, who is in Conference USA, not quite the SEC) for whatever reason. Southern has tried to get games with them but Ole Miss refuses.
Let's be honest, Ole Miss isn't exactly the class of the SEC.
My friend works at a restaurant and the manager there is a graduate of Ole Miss. He's kind of a faggot but he's a pretty quiet guy so in my contact with him I've not been annoyed.
The only time I've seen him get worked up is how furious he got when my friend and I told him Southern could easily beat Ole Miss. His only defense was that Ole Miss was in the SEC and Southern wasn't.
Okay that story didn't really go anywhere but I thought it was hilarious.
Like, it's bar-none the hottest university I've ever seen.
clearly you've never been to texas
I'm talking about ratios here, quality over quantity. Your chances of landing an incredibly hot chick are the highest at Ole Miss. Yeah, there are more hot chicks at Texas, but there is also way more competition.
Sure, they love money. I'm not talking about "strength of character" here.

Wyoming and USC won handily
