Just bought kirby squeak squad since they didn't have advance wars in store and i absolutely love this game! All the animations are so cute, it's simple but there so many weapons and different moves that make it feel quite deep and really quite fun. So, wondering why i haven't heard more hype about this game, i look online for some reviews and found that it's getting around 6-7/10 and all the comments are along the lines of "my 3-year-old loves this" ....... such lies. This type of game is known as a side scroller right? or is it platformer, anyway i thought all these super cute animation japanese games were only on the GBA, are there any more good ones like this for the NDS?

I have the Castlevania - Dawn of Sorrow and know about the portrait of ruins

ive tried Densetsu no Stafi 4 (JP) and i am looking for something similar, but in english?

Any recommendations?

Thanks :)

edit: obviously i have the new super mario bros. & sonic rush .. & megaman zx ... & since yesterday yoshis island ds....shit i got a lot of games ^^

The other DS kirby game is also awesome, but not a traditional platformer.

I just bought Kirby Canvas Curse 2 weeks ago. Its amazing, of course keep in mind that I've never owned a console and this is literally the first platformer I've played since the original Mac version of Prince of Persia.

I wanted to try out Squeak Squad but the reviews said it was very short and only good not great, so I haven't bought it yet.

But yea, Canvas Curse is great, you don't use any buttons, just the stylus, you draw lines to guide around Kirby. Sometimes it can get a bit frustrating (like some of the underwater bits) but mostly its pure bliss.

I misread this the way my heart asked me to and I am now sad.

My impression (and I could be wrong, feel free to correct me) is that the Kirby platformers tend to be on the easy side, more of an entry-level platformer. I've only played Squeak Squad and Kirby 64, Squeak Squad I found to be awfully easy. Kirby 64 was a while ago so I don't remember it as well, but I don't think it was on the hard side.

Canvas Curse is pure awesome, though. The difficulty was fine for me too.

yeah it's quite easy, never really have any difficulty killing enemies no matter what power-up you have at the time..nevertheless very fun and for me at least, pleasant to watch =)

You basically nailed the summary of this game. It's not bad, I got it for free with my DSlite so it got some good play time, all in all it's a fun game and even my now ex had fun with it for quite a while.
