Damn it all to Hades' Black Sulfer Heart. I wish I had a comic book store nearby.

I was so looking forward to Nextwave. It will be mine eventually.

He himself did, but I did not think it was relevent to this thread. He is a very private man, after all.

nextwave is a super hero comic about five people who have just minutes to prevent a town from being eaten by a giant lizard monster. In purple underpants.

    FIN FANG FOOM!

Mommy was a slut-lizard that did the bad thing with suggestively-shaped piles of nuclear waste, and nine months later --

    FIN FANG FOOM!

Has been burning with the need to mate since 1956!

    FIN FANG FOOM!

    Has absolutely no genitals whatsoever!

    FIN FANG FOOM!

Oh, you cannot imagine how annoyed he is.

I'm a bit confused by the fact that there are "real" Marvel characters in it.

...albeit the only ones I recognized were Captain Marvel and Boom-Boom.

[spoiler:fac2b06fa8]Also, unless they ret-conned or something, Captain Marvel didn't have her powers when she was a kid, although I doubt Ellis is really too concerned about continuity.[/spoiler:fac2b06fa8]

God I love that song. Been listening to it for almost a month.

MONICA! Is gonna microwave your ass!
TABBY! Is gonna steal all your stuff!
AARON! Is going to organize your sock drawer!
ELSA! Is gonna speak with an accent!
THE CAPTAIN! His name is The Captain!

    They damn well better.

Oh, did anyone pick up that "Apparat Program Singles" book a few weeks ago? Flipped through it, but it didn't look too interesting.

Everything Ellis writes gets collected sooner or later. I'm sure Down will be no exception.

And there's some good stuff in Apparat; just be aware of what it is-- four one-shots about characters you've never heard of. I don't regret buying it at all.

He said it will take a VERY long time to get them collected.

The Captain seems really powerful. [spoiler:0afb98ed86] He has super strength/durability and perhaps flight. The coloring of him flying (the effect/blur behind him) is a different color than Tabitha's. It's not clear if Tabiltha's effect is different because she has learned how to use her powers to fly, or what. I certainly hope The Captain can't fly, becuase he would probably fly around shitting on people. [/spoiler:0afb98ed86]

I got the impression she was using the flight harness to keep her from falling, but also using her explosions to give herself some extra speed.

There is a link on his blog to E.T. porn. In the comments for that post, there is a further link that leads to a picture incorporating a young girl, a penis, and a yoda tattoo.

    Very disturbing.

In lieu of actual content, here, from NEXTWAVE #5, are
possibly the most monstrous two panels I've yet written:

    --

    Pic 2
CUT TO: LITTLE CAPTAIN, eight years old, wearing the
same black-star-on-white t-shirt, stands in the doorway of
his bedroom. A silhouette of a hanged teddy bear is on the
wall. His little eyes are wide.

    I-BOX:
THE CAPTAIN had as strange a childhood as any
    of the Next Wave Squad:

    LITTLE CAP:
    ...Special Bear?

    Pic 3
CUT TO: The CAP'S MOM, stick thin and drunk off her ass,
vodka in hand, sits on the child's bed, pointing a flashlight at
Special Bear, a teddy who's been hanged from the light fitting,
    neck broken.

    MOM
    Special Bear's dead.

    Nextwave is pretty awesome.
"Every day I smoke two hundred cigarettes and one hundred cigars and drink a bottle of whisky and drink three bottles of wine with dinner. And dinner is meat. The cook serves me an entire animal and I fight it bare-handed and tear off what I want and I eat it and have the rest buried."
