Warren Ellis makes comic books!? I didn't really know. I only ever heard about him the time he was trying to convince Jeffrey Rowland to smoke cigarettes by posting pictures of mutilated genitals on the LNMAC message board.

I guess it could have been an impostor, though.

    Ellis VS Joss Whedon. FIGHT!

Joss' post are a tad bland, but Ellis gets some good lines out of the thing.

I just read Ministry of Space.

I'm a bit confused by the ending.

[spoiler:9a661d2c7c]I.e., the sign that specifies "Non-White Personnel Quarters" or something. How would Britain getting into space first stop the civil rights movement from happening?[/spoiler:9a661d2c7c]

    [spoiler:333bea44bd]
At the end of WW2, Britain was basically shattered economically and unable to hold onto it's empire, nor able to enforce the values that this empire stood for. If you take a look at any of the literature, art or history of the British Empire you'd see how deeply racist it was, and even today those attitudes still linger on. (i.e. look at that fuckwit Prince Phillip).

Imagine that old empire never falling AND having the resources and power of being a spacefaring superempire, with the most prosperous and militarily advanced society on the planet.

Also, the civil rights movement did not start in Britain.

Yeah, I picked both up yesterday. Still haven't read the Fell issue, I'm too busy rereading nextwave.

Okay, I just read Fell #4. I have to say I didn't like it as much as the first three.

    Mostly because, well...

[spoiler:86c089c71c]He frames a guy for murder. Now, the guy was going to kill someone, and probably killed other people, but Fell frames him for a specific murder that he quite probably didn't do. To me it's a sign that Snowtown is corrupting him, if not in the same way as everyone else.[/spoiler:86c089c71c]

It wasn't my favorite, either, but Ellis defends the choice in the back material, and I think it's a pretty interesting character moment for Fell.

Yeah, blackgas is pretty good, though I have no idea what he's planning on doing with only 3 issues ion the mini.

Whatever happened with it anyway? Avatar's website says #2 should have shipped in Feb and #3 should be out sometime this month, but I haven't heard anything about either.

So... having read up through the seventh volume, I have a spoilery question about the end of Transmetropolitan.

I mean if you didn't realize it before, they pretty much hit you with a hammer on the head in volume 7 that pounds "Spider is in a lot of trouble" into you.[/realspoiler:fb0288d0de]
