Xbox Live + Wireless Bridge Dropping Connection...
I recently purchased an xbox 360 and got xbox live. However, I did not wish to purchase the wireless adapter for the 360, and it is in my bedroom with my computer but no modem(my computer connects via wireless). I connected my xbox 360 to my pc with a crossover cable, then bridged the LAN connection and wireless connection on my computer. I set my 360 to have a static IP within an acceptable range, filled out all the correct dns etc. settings on it, and forwarded the xbox live ports to it on my wireless router. No firewall running.
I can connect to xbox live fine and the connection tests always show up positive(open NAT). However, the connection always drops within a couple minutes. First it effectively dies(ie kicks me out of the game), but still shows me as connected just no one online. Then a couple minutes later, it realizes I'm not actually connected and shows me as disconnected. Has anyone encountered this problem, or does anyone have any ideas? This is pretty annoying, I don't really want to buy the adapter and there's no reason why this shouldn't work.
