I just got the grip for the LMG, and it reduces recoil a ton. :^:
Except, I can't use C4 with it, so I think I'll just deal with the recoil.
You're one of those C4 muthafuckers eh.
Irritating!
Hey, not my fault you don't look when you try to set up a bomb/take a control point! A frag grenade takes care of them. :P
C4 doesn't bother me that much as I've gotten used to looking for them in R6:V, but those grenade launcher and RPG bastards are worse. Just run around with the launcher and shoot whoever you see. It's so annoying and I'm glad they took it out for R6. And when you have one on your team, they make a huge mess of the place with smoke everywhere that you can't line up your shots and instead you get shot by the person he missed randomly firing at the smoke trail.

Grenade launchers aren't THAT bad, but they can be whored, kinda like in Battlefield 2.
RPGs on the other hand are stupid and I hate them being a full weapon with that much ammo. They should be a sidearm with 1 shot to MAYBE take down a helicopter with.

Is there some way to get rid of the "downloading game settings" thingy? Or is it just a server thing and I need to wait?

I use the RPG when I decide I want to use the shotgun, only so I have something with a bit of range. But really, I find the RPG to be too slow to use for much. I mean, sure, it's powerful, but you have to hit close, and I found it tough to aim.
But again, I kinda suck at the game.... ;-)
As for the number of rounds, it only has two, doesn't it? I've only ever had two grenades to fire, and usually only end up ever using one. C4 only gets you two packs, as well, and I always wish I had more (dropping a couple packs at key hiding spots around control points makes for an effective remote defense, but I can only use it once until I die).
So, I just played the best game of my life using the autosnipe. I started with a 16 kill streak, and finished 22/5
Not bad. Especially for a domination game where I usually just throw myself at the points with little regard to ratio.

Just had a 150-150 draw, which I'd never seen before. Awesome game... very short, too. I don't think the round could have lasted more than 5 minutes.
I've been liking the MP5 a lot more, lately. I've found I'm pretty good with it and the shottie. SAWs are still used too, but I'm awful with the assault rifles and sniper rifles. I think that's why I hate Overgrown so much.
Darley, try Eurogamer tomorrow, they'll be doling out a few beta keys I hear. And failing that, if you preorder with GAME they'll send you a key for every copy you're "buying" on the 10th. If you don't have an account with GAME be sure to create one and buy through that, makes cancelling a pre-order a case of a few clicks in 'my account' rather than an e-mail/phone call. Not that I'm suggesting anything, that's just useful knowledge in general!
So on the CoD4 website, they have a poll asking what setting you would want the next game to be set in. One of the options is alternate history and right there is something I'd like to see. Not enough of those around.
There was that steampunk rts/fps mod for HL2 that looked nice, but I never got it to run properly on my system.
I mean CoD4 looks great with its modern setting, but I hope their next one is also a step into a different setting.
How about some fucking gun balance? I'd like to see something real gritty. Show the side of war that isn't shown on night time news. I hated hearing your CO or XO after a level give his two cents about shit like everything was all good.
Edit - I'd love to see a Russian WWII game with the great battles Kharkov, Stalingrad, Leningrad, Crimea, Operation Barbarossa, Kursk. Instead of seeing Omaha Beach, Carentan, Rhine. Hell I was playing the Blazing Angels 2 Secret Weapons of WWII and I wondered how cool if they did something like that for FPS. DICE did it for an expansion pack and it blew dick.
No one does Nam' right. They'll sugar coat it or make it look like Platoon or the other films of that era. I can imagine some Southerner officer at the end of mission saying "Charlie fights like a coward but he is human and we must respect that"
You can make an arcadey shooter off of the Soviet Campaign. Hell, if they can make action pack battles out of all those battles in the Call of Duty series. They can do a hell of a better job with the close quarters action of Stalingrad like Pavlov's Place or massive tank battles of Barbarossa.
Sweet. Got an email from the beta team saying tomorrow at 1pm EST they're raising the level cap to 16 and that this would be one of several raises in the cap throughout the beta. Should hit level 16 fairly quick I bet.
I've always wanted that. The Werchmact, Kriegsmarine and Luftwaffe had some awesome equipment and were greatly trained. Germans are given the shitty end of the stick in media like Band of Brothers where the Company forces push into Carentan and the German soldiers retreat immediately; Those were SS troops and they didn't just immediately turn tail and haul ass.
Eurogamers.net is giving out a token for a token today - basically you get an activision clearance code, which you key in on their website and on the 10th they'll send you out a beta token. Also if you've preordered on GAME they've also e-mailed out the same thing.
A Vietnam era fps would be interesting, but ultimately futile. That was not a "conventional" war. The game would consist of you walking a patrol trying not to step on a booby trap, getting ambushed by unseen foes, you shooting blindly into the bush, and then either dying or the enemy retreats. Yeah there were some old school shoot outs with the N. Vietnamese army, but I don't think it would be enough to make a full game.
I thought they should have done a WW2 game from the Japanese or German perspective, but no one likes to lose. The first half of the German sided game would be great as you blitz across Europe, but then you stop and dig in. Then duke it out with the Allies all the while retreating. Eventually all your mission goals will be, "Retreat to this point" or "Hold back the enemy until this unit gets away." That's no fun. The majority of a Japanese sided game would be just like a rail shooter, dig in and shoot everyone coming onto the beaches. Eventually you will lose the island no matter what you do. Not so fun. Well they could also add in the parts where Japan takes over a huge chunk of Asia, puts people into camps and pretty much kills everyone else. If you like that kinda of thing I guess it will be fun.

You could be in the Blitzkrieg first, fighting famous battles, conquering cities, ect...
Then later on,they make you defend and you are stuck with your unit and try to retreat home, so on the way you fight through all the chaos around you and just want to get home and live.
And at the end, you're in Berlin and get chased by Russians, Americans and English through the streets before ultimately getting knocked out. You then wake up in a hospital and are one of the lucky survivors of the war.
Edit: Of course you could also be Tom Cruise as Stauffenberg running through bunkers, trying to blow up Hitler.
The game would be titled "Tom Cruise's Stauffenberg: Call of the Wolfsschanze"

I just waited and it went away. The official solution is to restart the beta, but I just kept getting the message.
Ya I get 18+ kills with it regularly
go to charlieoscardelta.
Then you don't deserve an ak
so we'll see.

I need an AK or an M4 with the red dot on it 8-)
But I tend to run out of ammo with both of those. Then I'm left with a knife and a pistol...:(
I enjoy the knife, but I rarely use it... it cuts into my challenge training for my shotgun.
I certainly don't need to work on the challenge for the SAW anymore... the ACOG scope is useless for just about every weapon.

Yet it kills God damn
I didn't think they would lock people out just for that.
It's legit, let the race begin. My xbox is dead.
Or has this already been used by a person who has stealthily gained ground beyond the pack?
And for the post on top, one word, just one:
Fuck.
