I was in McDonald's earlier today, and noticed that they've started a petition to change the definition of a 'McJob'. I think this is ridiculous, and that the current definition of “an unstimulating, low-paid job with few prospects, esp. one created by the expansion of the service sector†is perfectly accurate.
McDonald's' problem with the definition is that it is degrading to the hard-working, dedicated workers in the service industry. I disagree. I say that while the workers in these jobs may well be hard-working and dedicated, to say that they have good career prospects, a stimulating and/or a highly-paid job is insulting and misleading. I feel that this definition needs to be kept.

I find it completely laughable that anyone would think they could change the definition of something in the OED through petition, to start with. It's obviously just a marketing stunt. And I'm drawing attention to it!
I don't really intend to do anything with this. I just thought I'd come at it semi-seriously instead of saying 'HAY GUYS, MCDONALDS LULZ'.

Because there is nothing like an internet petition to let the man know you mean business

They're trying to redefine a slang term.

The one in my town is fairly decent, although the one in the next town over does a better job of it. Some of them are insanely terrible though.

McDonald's fries are bottom-of-the-barrel
BK has decent fries
Or if you are extremely cheap and think paying $3 for fries, burger, and a drink is a good deal even if it's just kind of mediocre.
