I have 1400 MS Points and I don't know what to spend them on!

I recently acquisitioned 1400 points for XBL, and I have no idea what to spend them on. I've considered Geometry Wars or Bomberman, but I'm still not sure.

Any advice would be great!

Did you get Golden Axe yet? It's important that everyone gets it because it's the only time ever that the arcade version of Golden Axe has been successfully perfectly brought home. It's a short game that rewards multiple plays to maximize efficiency, and is also a lot of fun with a friend.

Space Giraffe is kickin' rad. I'd get that before Geometry Wars any day.

You can't really go wrong with Geometry Wars, although I rarely play it--not because it isn't good, I just can't play retro/arcade titles for more than 15 minutes before I start craving next-gen goodness. But it is a great game.

I actually had a lot of fun with Marble Blast Ultra--I liked the control and thought it was pretty addictive, and it has multiplayer.

Doom multiplayer can be nostalgic fun in short stints.

    Don't get Alien Hominid. Ugh.

I'm saving my points to get Puzzle Fighter HD when it comes out. That game was so much fun on the psx, multiplayer is a blast.

edit: Oh, and if you haven't played it before, Castlevania Symphony of the Night is very awesome. I think it might be the game that I've spent the most time playing on my 360.

    Yes... good call.

Space Giraffe... uh... please play the demo first. The game made me sick (too "super-seizure-robots" for me).

Geometry Wars is a great way to spend 400 points.

The other 800? Settlers of Catan, Carcassonne, Castlevania, or PoP Classic will certainly do you no wrong.

It's weird, I guess since it's not as competitive as what I normally play it seems like less of a game.... but it's not.

I would say TMNT ftw. But only if your 20+ years old and you know the definition of an arcade.

But stay away from Double Dragon. I love that game so much but what's with that lag? And I'm talking about the single player game not the multiplayer!!! I've been considering calling Xbox for a refund on that game, seriously.

First off, you can all die in a horrible fire for not mentioning Pac Man:CE. It's possibly one of the finest games on the arcade right now.

Secondly, to the original poster, download as many demos as you can and decide for yourself.

Geometry Wars - Best game on Arcade, on of the best on the console.

Heavy Weapon : Atomic Tank - I love this game. Mulitplayer par excellence. <3

Space Giraffe is a definite maybe - not played it much yet, but my first impressions have been very, very good. Pac Man CE is great also.

Do you remember ever playing that game in the arcades? If memory serves, it's just as laggy on the original arcade hardware. All they did was emulate the game perfectly, instead of trying to "improve" it, which usually results in more bad than good.

Console versions might have been better, but I seem to remember DD being pretty laggy at the arcades.

And as for the OP's question, here are my favorites:
    - Castlevania: SotN
    - Geometry Wars
    - Marble Blast Ultra
    - PacMan CE
    - Worms HD
    - Carcassonne
    - Catan

...and I can't wait for Super Puzzle Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix next week... that's probably the best "Tetris-style falling blocks" game I've ever played. Now, if someone could release Magical Drop 2 or 3 for XBLA or the Nintendo VC, I'd be truly happy.

You may be correct to that effect. Maybe years of old pizza and stale Coke have confounded my memories of the old DD dayz but that still shouldn't count for today. There is no excuss for that port game today ...
