I have 1400 MS Points and I don't know what to spend them on!
I recently acquisitioned 1400 points for XBL, and I have no idea what to spend them on. I've considered Geometry Wars or Bomberman, but I'm still not sure.
Did you get Golden Axe yet? It's important that everyone gets it because it's the only time ever that the arcade version of Golden Axe has been successfully perfectly brought home. It's a short game that rewards multiple plays to maximize efficiency, and is also a lot of fun with a friend.
Space Giraffe is kickin' rad. I'd get that before Geometry Wars any day.
Neo Rasa on
"You know how Batman hangs people over the edge of buildings and gets them to spill information. That's Neo Rasa's way of it, but instead of information, he just likes to see people suffer." ~Senor Fish
You can't really go wrong with Geometry Wars, although I rarely play it--not because it isn't good, I just can't play retro/arcade titles for more than 15 minutes before I start craving next-gen goodness. But it is a great game.
I actually had a lot of fun with Marble Blast Ultra--I liked the control and thought it was pretty addictive, and it has multiplayer.
Doom multiplayer can be nostalgic fun in short stints.
Don't get Alien Hominid. Ugh.

I'm saving my points to get Puzzle Fighter HD when it comes out. That game was so much fun on the psx, multiplayer is a blast.
edit: Oh, and if you haven't played it before, Castlevania Symphony of the Night is very awesome. I think it might be the game that I've spent the most time playing on my 360.
The only Arcade game purchases I don't regret are Geometry Wars and Worms.
Edit: Also, Uno, but only if you like that game. I like it and have to force myself to play.
Uno is the best chill game on XBLA. I spent many long nights playing this just bullshitting everyone.
And drinking heavily.
It's one of those games I like, but won't play it unless I can't think of anything else to play.
It's weird, I guess since it's not as competitive as what I normally play it seems like less of a game.... but it's not.
It's good, dare I say, clean fun.

Clean fun?
Right after the cam was released I had a guy wearing a KKK hood and hailing Hitler.

I always wonder what kind of response the guy could possibly be going for (other than pissing folks off)
Like, maybe some white kid will see him and go "well, he DOES have a point..."
Or maybe some black kid will see it and go "He's right. I AM a horrible person solely because of the color of my skin."
I would say TMNT ftw. But only if your 20+ years old and you know the definition of an arcade.
But stay away from Double Dragon. I love that game so much but what's with that lag? And I'm talking about the single player game not the multiplayer!!! I've been considering calling Xbox for a refund on that game, seriously.

Do you remember ever playing that game in the arcades? If memory serves, it's just as laggy on the original arcade hardware. All they did was emulate the game perfectly, instead of trying to "improve" it, which usually results in more bad than good.
Console versions might have been better, but I seem to remember DD being pretty laggy at the arcades.
And as for the OP's question, here are my favorites:
- Castlevania: SotN
- Geometry Wars
- Marble Blast Ultra
- PacMan CE
- Worms HD
- Carcassonne
- Catan
...and I can't wait for Super Puzzle Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix next week... that's probably the best "Tetris-style falling blocks" game I've ever played. Now, if someone could release Magical Drop 2 or 3 for XBLA or the Nintendo VC, I'd be truly happy.

You may be correct to that effect. Maybe years of old pizza and stale Coke have confounded my memories of the old DD dayz but that still shouldn't count for today. There is no excuss for that port game today ...
Eh, I've got both, and I don't really notice bad music of sound effects. And I rather enjoy that I get to use a wireless controller, have much shorter load times, and not have to disc swap.
Sorry to say.... I thought Space Giraffe was terrible. My roommate said if I ever put it on the TV screen again, he'd kill me and eat my children (I don't have children). I can't say I blame him. Space Giraffe is, in my honest opinion, garbage.

Just get Castlevania. It's one of the best games ever, and 800 points is a criminally low amount for such an awesome game. Also, Worms is fun online/with a friend.
It's called Ebay and I never said the sound/music was bad on the 360. I just said it was better on the playstation version.
You said he should skip the 350 version of lieu of spending time and money tracking down a copy of the original which is nit cheap. Especially on eBay.

Yes... good call.
Space Giraffe... uh... please play the demo first. The game made me sick (too "super-seizure-robots" for me).
Geometry Wars is a great way to spend 400 points.
The other 800? Settlers of Catan, Carcassonne, Castlevania, or PoP Classic will certainly do you no wrong.

If you thought the demo was awesome, just wait. I despise the beginning of SoTN but after that it's the best Castlevania ever.

I never asked for this!

Be honest, that was you.
I have turned Camera off in all Aracde games for that and.... other reasons.
Oh....god... I will never look at a soft pretzel the same way again.

Garantueed to get you laid. It is absolutely the biggest Aphrodesiac videogames have to offer today.
Secondly, to the original poster, download as many demos as you can and decide for yourself.
Pac Man Championship Edition is also amazing.
Heavy Weapon : Atomic Tank - I love this game. Mulitplayer par excellence.
Space Giraffe is a definite maybe - not played it much yet, but my first impressions have been very, very good. Pac Man CE is great also.

As for XBLA I'd say Boom Boom Rocket and the othre 400 saved for when some thing good comes along.
SotN's only one disc.
...a hard to find disc. You don't just walk into EBStop and pick up a used copy on the cheap. This is the worst advice in this thread.
