Somebody pulled this off the Xbox forums in this thread: http://forums.xbox.com/msgs/default.aspx?MessageID=6

It's like that stupid Sega list from a couple weeks ago. Things we already know mixed with some guesses and utterly stupid lies. :P Just a bunch of crap. Xvid support my ass.

I'm leaning on the "not true" side too. Still I wanted to double check and see if anyone else had seen this or not just in case.

At least 5 of those are totally true though.

But some are laughably made up. Xvid support? Erm no.

After digging around I found the same list over at this blog which also claimed to have gotten it from the Xbox forums: http://www.xbox360rally.com/fall-dashboard-update-list-leaked/

They also claim to have clan blade screens (no idea if photoshopped or not)

I can't imagine any possible reason for MS to support 3rd party controllers. "Let's allow other people to eat our massive markup cash cow. High five!"

They originally said the wireless controller exclusivity would only be for a year... maybe the peripheral makers are getting pissed?

I mean, say what you will.. Mad Catz and Pelican eat up a huge part of the market.

Maybe it's for Rock Band / Guitar Hero 3? I can imagine they'd lose a lot of customers to PS3 if they don't have wireless guitars and PS3 does, they probably don't want that to happen...

Oh fuck MadCatz and Pelican. If they want to release a 3rd-party wireless controller for the 360, they should do it like it was done in the old days and reverse-engineer it, instead of bitching about how MS won't give up market share so they can sell more of their plastic abortions that have the same quality as something you'd find in a cereal box.

As far as wireless controllers go, arcade sticks might be a big deal. You can bet your pants that some people will be pissed about 360's unfriendliness toward arcade controllers come release time of VF5 and SC4.

I'm not following. I have a rather nice Hori arcade stick for my 360, and there's going to be another one released around the time VF5 comes out. Unfriendly how?

a Live Arcade blade, and improved browsing for your games, would be awesome. I hate scrolling through a list that slowly loads in, because i went and packed it with all the trials (which i'll have to clean off sometime, anyway)

at some point everyone who is willing to pay $texas for extra controllers will have bought them.

at that point, let the cheaper ones into the market, so that other folks can buy those, and multiplayer games can be sold.

All I can say after reading this is. NO MORE FUCKING BLADES! they take up way to much screen real estate if they were more overlapping it would be fine but as it is right now its like 25% of my screen is the blades labels alone.

I actually like the PS3 crossbar doodad interface for this. I just wish the PS3's font/icons were larger and that their online store wasn't a terrible, unreadable mess.

i thought back around the launch of the 360, there was some kind of outrage amongst the easily offended, that MS were going to charge 3rd-party peripheral makers a fee to make stuff for the 360. The complaints were it would shut out a lot of the smaller developers. But even still, i'm pretty sure they'd stand to make a profit from 3rd party peripherals. It's all money on the money pile.

Overall this is pretty cool. Mad Catz/Pelican are iredeemable bullshit and if they had to figure out how the hardware works on their own instead of having it handed to them then they'd have no choice but to make something of a slightly higher quality. I have no-name bullshit Genesis controllers that have been through the wringer and still work like a dream but we're lucky if half the Mad Catz dogshit we get even survives shipping.

i don't know if anyone would agree, but i'd like the ability to give names to people on my friends list, rather than just using their gamertags. It's not so bad for some people, but for others, it can be a hassle. I tend to pick up the nickname 'dust', which i'm okay with.

It'd be nice to be able to sort them into groups too. Whether it's by game ("here are the people I play Forza with") or by whatever ("here are the PA guys") it would be very handy.
