I have an active eve account with a character in GF! (Isabelle)
but it has only been active for like a week. I still want in, just so I can peruse the wiki. I need so much more information than I currently have at my disposal.
in other news, I participated in my first op yesterday. I flew my teensy little kestrel tackler in a defense op that saw no action, but drove the aggressors out, by virtue of our numbers.
whorebags wouldn't even fight. they just split up and went willy-nilly. we did likewise.

Remember, remember, the fifth of November, The gunpowder treason and plot. I know of no reason why the gunpowder treason should ever be forgot.
The caldari ships are actually pretty good. Since there isnt really anything wrong with the raven and this takes the single weakness of the ship[6/5 med low split] and turns it into a 7/4 split. And the 8 med cloaking raven + ECM[if you want it] is going to be right insane with 4 lows.
It only really looks bad because the Kronos is un-fucking-godly. And cause its expensive of course.
Also, i am exaggerating a bit, the Redeemer is pretty good.
Oh hey speaking of slashfic, we had a small squad gatecamp last night and had harry potter lesbian slash read to us by a british chick and a so-cal chick. It was pretty much the best thing ever and no, nobody recorded.

Yay, I can pay 700m more for an uninsurable hull for a slightly better slot layout
MAKING THE DRONE INTERFACE DETACHABLE IS NOT A FIX. I need 3 easy buttons. Launch, Attack, Come home. Stop with the right click drop down crap, it sucks. If you want to make me really happy give me a couple extra buttons to launch pre configured groups.

The Amarr ships in this expansion make me cry so far. Yea, our T2 Ewar frig has less target range and CPU than the T1. Please, let me get into optimal range of a battleship so I can use my slow ass ship to perma run neuts on it... Urgh.
I see no purpose to the 4 turret ship either. I guess it is nice to have a 40km tractorbeam, but other than loot retrieval how is this ship a significant enough advantage over an existing Battleship to justify the price? Resists? Tank? The Standard Battleships can do that just fine.
OH, ISS put up a couple of towers in Providence this week. Not sure why, we destroyed them promptly.
So, apparently I was booted from Merch Industrial because of inactivity. I now find myself, inexplicably, in some corp named Deep Core Mining, or something along those lines. From what I could see, it looks like some generic, pre-made corp for those of us without a home. The corp chat was...different. A bunch of people claiming they had uber fleets of ships. Riiiggghhht. That's why they're slumming in Empire space in a corp with no alliance to any faction of the War.
I know I wasn't the most valuable Merch-I member. I suck at both combat and mining. I'm still having issues trying to figure out exactly to play the game right. My Merlin is pretty much all I've got, and I know it's fitted wrong. But damn, I would love to be back in the group, to at least feel like I'm not quite the level of EVE loser that I probably am.
I've sent an EVE-mail to Rhonyn asking if I could get back in. Given how depressing tonight's corp-slap was, I'm definitely resolved to learn how to become a valuable member of the team. I don't think I could take another day of the corp hell I just experienced.

You know they're adding drone hotkeys right? That's in the screenshot as well.
Also, the 4 turrets use half the ammo, half the cap for gallente/amarr, and half the fitting of 8 weapons, and have 4 highslots for things such as nos/neuts/cloak/tractorbeam/etc. They're designed to be used against npcs, probably on level 5+s, hence the super easy to be jammed part
The Kronos ain't *that* ungodly. 12k base grid means you have to squeeze into 15k total, so Neutrons retain their usual "can't really fit a tank" status. You can dual-rep ions if you really try, but you can't really put anything that uses cap in the remaining highs. If you do, dual reps lasts a minute *with* a booster.
Neutrons with a token rep/plate/DC with a stack of magstabs and an ECCM fits, with med neuts/nos in the extra highs, and actually stays capstable with the booster, without needing any CPU implants.
Yes I saw the hotkeys... Later.. we will see if they get it right :P
As for the Paladin.. Yes, 4 turrets at full cap use. Apoc gets 8 turrets, half cap use.
Now the Apoc gets 6000 base cap, I do not know the Paladin's cap. The cap USE however is identical. The Abaddon still gets the damage bonus and a resistance Bonus.
Putting aside my feeling that it is a mistake to craft ships specifically designed for NPCing (or anything so polarizing) What significant advantage is there in the Paladin?
Look at the depth of training required to use these ships. Add to this the much steeper training requirements for Amarr pilots compared to say.. Raven pilots. Again, what significant advantage is there in using the Paladin if you meet the requirements?
I will grant you, for my part cost should never be a balancing factor in gaming. Why would anyone spend the money these will cost?

Also pro-tip: don't go inactive unless you're in Empire space or have a jump clone in empire space because if you leave while in a 0.0 station and we don't have an office there when you come back then you're probably a bit fucked

It's really terribly hard to fit eccm right? Also the paladin does
* 5% bonus to capacitor capacity per Amarr BS level
* 2% bonus to stasis webifier velocity factor per Amarr BS level
* 7.5% bonus to armor repair amount per Marauder level
* 7.5% bonus to large energy turret tracking per Marauder level
that, so yeah, that's why the fuck you use it. Single good web is equal to 2 on another ship, 25% bigger cap base, tank bonus, and tracking bonus on top of lasers already having amazing tracking. Fuck yeah it's useless.
*sigh* . . . just got my first taste of PvP. As in, just got blowed to bits by a bunch of BoB dickheads when I was just finishing off an NPC rat . . . I see a BoB player on my radar and literally within 5 sec my shields and armor are GONE. Then I was podded and it was all over.
What sucked the most was that was my first foray out of the station after spending 5mil on a Caracal and fittings. Now I'm broker than broke.

You just learned several valuable lessons:
Don't fly something you can't afford to lose.
Don't undock with hostiles in-system unless you know what you're doing.
Keep an eye on local and defense channels when ratting, mining, or doing anything other than sitting in a station or POS.
Yeah, the new ship gets some shiny bonuses. You are ignoring the point. Is there anything that the Paladin does that justifies the cost?
Yes it gets mission bonuses. ECCM is worthless against NPCs anyway. This ship is going to cost more than the Abaddon by all indication and it certainly requires VERY deep skill training. Given the extra length of training you will need do you think the ship provides enough advantages to justify existence?
Some of the bonuses are very nice, for mission running. The Balance factors being used are difficulty and cost. This ship has both. For my part, stick with the Abaddon or Apoc in your missions. Less cost, easier to use and will still do the job just fine. For the extra cost you can get a navy ship, unless I am very mistaken on what it will take to make these (and I might be, in all fairness, but it IS a T2 ship). A NPCing only combat ship makes me concerned about the future of this game.

Oh and Amazing tracking on lasers? HEHE
none of the t2 BS seem to justify the cost, the only one that might is the Widow that can jam as hard as a rook. And I know where you're coming from on the npc only side, it just splits the player base further. The previous MMO (arguably) I played was Guild Wars, which had all stuff usable in both pvp/e, then after a year catered to pvers through pve only skills, which, again, split the playerbase more.
The Kronos ain't *that* ungodly. 12k base grid means you have to squeeze into 15k total, so Neutrons retain their usual "can't really fit a tank" status. Turn your MWD off, no way that a the ship will cap out in a minute with two reps and 4 guns running. A dual rep megathron doesnt cap out that fast.
I know it sounds a little smarmy when said like that, but situational awareness and keeping a hawk eye on local and on defense channels is a skill you must learn to use while ratting. Our enemies will send gangs to kill solo players, and they will destroy you and your ship and your freedoms and everything you hold dear.
Now for something completely different.
I posted this on the Merch forums but I figured I'd throw it out here for the general PA-EVE public as well.
There is currently a character for sale on the GF internal forums, this lovely fellow -
Some of you may be aware that I've actually been with EVE for a long time, since before its beta actually. Due to a whole host of reasons however, I've switched characters a few times and also let training times lapse on Riese for long stretches. As such Riese has about nine million SP, a fact which has grown to frustrate me a lot over the past few months.
The fellow for sale is almost everything I could ever want: he's set for T2 Blasters and Rails, he basically just needs to train the Interceptor skill to get into a Crow and is a week off from a Taranis, and is already well on his way to being able to pilot a Moros or a Phoenix, whichever I choose. He's pretty much all I could need to be satisfied with the game for a long time to come, but his buyout price is 7 billion (which, going by the prices on the EVE forums, is still pretty low.)
I am short this amount by roughly 6.6 billion ISK. Therefore, I need a loan or multiple loans from different sources. Now, I can make a down payment on this (these) loan(s) after purchasing the character because part of the purchase price is this thing:
Between the faction/officer loot and the hull that's an easy 1.5 billion ISK which I could use to pay back the initial part of the loan with. I just need to get the money together to actually purchase the man.
If anyone wants to help with this please message or mail Riese Blecja in-game. I really, really would like to get my hands on this guy.
EDIT: three billion ISK has been pledged, I need 3.5 billion more to buyout. Please help if you can/trust me. Note that each billion will return a flat 100 million, so you are getting some interest on the investment.
*sigh* . . . just got my first taste of PvP. As in, just got blowed to bits by a bunch of BoB dickheads when I was just finishing off an NPC rat . . . I see a BoB player on my radar and literally within 5 sec my shields and armor are GONE. Then I was podded and it was all over.

There are way too many people playing MMOs with a comically limited grasp on economics and far too much access to technical words they don't really understand.

So getting killed while flying solo in a game explicitly designed to put solo players at a disadvantage killed fun for you in eve?
If you have no one to fly with, then no one likes you and you should just quit. If you have someone to fly with and they aren't on and hostiles are in system, don't un-dock in something you aren't willing to lose. Is it that hard?

If you have no one to fly with, then no one likes you and you should just quit. If you have someone to fly with and they aren't on and hostiles are in system, don't un-dock in something you aren't willing to lose. Is it that hard?
but what happens when the enemy retreats without being shot and the front lines move?!
