Anyone trying to claim "canon" in reference to Warhammer has absolutely no idea what they're talking aobut. No setting that's different in every game and every edition of each game has "canon".
LIES
Not really
Dark Elves are Emo High Elves that like black, blood and sex. That is their canon right there.
Pretty much. Also drugs.
edit: I've been away from WA for a while. I came back, made some changes... people are really pissed about Disciples and constantly arguing about "canon".
Fucking retarded. Arguing canon is tantamount to screaming "I'M BITCHING ABOUT SOMETHING I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT. I STARTED WITH PLAYING 40K 3RD EDITION AND PRETEND I KNOW SHIT, BUT I DON'T."
What's a good website with some lore/bestiary information on WAR? I want to try my hand at writing a short piece of fan fiction for the beta contest. I want to write specifically about the giants.
I feel rather twitchy every time I go to the official site, since I look at the beta center first every time and just feel disgruntled as I look at any new stuff posted up. I'm apparently a veteran newsletter subscriber yet my status is always 'applied'. Bah >.<. Maybe I need to distant myself from any information for a while but still glance at my email, if I don't get a chance I can always get into the open beta...

I hope it wont be too laggy.
It might have something to do with what you wrote on the "Why I want to be in beta" section when you signed up. I know I wrote some pretty stupid crap that I can't take back now which is probably going to hold me back. Assuming they read that shit, of course.

But who wouldn't take a guy who knows the greatness of Majesty? :b
Odd thing is, what I wrote in the notes was something along these lines, although longer. I have a great deal of experience with other games such as Warhammer, and have beta tested a few in varying different phases. Unlike some I know that the beta is not supposed to be a chance to play the game for free but to make it better in the long run for when it is released.
Something like that, if I recall... can't look at it in my profile sadly. You'd think that alone would make them pick me over the large amount of sputtering retards that got into the prior beta, since most seemed to go in with the mindset that I said I would not, that it was just a free game to play.
Welp in beta you wont have much of a choice, if you get in as to what class you focus on. You may be stuck with a stunty eventually.
I have to say I really like Mythics approach to beta. Force you're players to test what you need tested in blocks, instead of setting them loose across the entire lands and missing lots of shit.
I honestly think with this approach Warhammer will release smoother then other games that just went free for all and hoped people actually beta tested.
Lets face it, 99% of people accepted into beta will not submit a single bug report. At least this way Mythic can sit a task force down and watch the logs as they come in for a single area, like Altdorf when we burn it to the ground. Twice to make sure we got everyone good and dead.
Ironically, every bug report I submitted during WoW Burning Crusade's beta was ignored. =/ I believe the Blood Elf's animation for sitting on chairs is still bugged?
Welp, a bugged sitting animation doesn't stop blizzard from making mega bucks from you.
It would probably be the same in WAR anyways. Some non combat related animation is last priority compared to say, removing your sword from someones chest properly.
oh god, ever play an orc female? they have this weird thing they do with their thumbs when they're running (like a perpetual double thumbs up or something). its so fucking annoying, I couldn't stand playing them for too long.

Oh it was certainly a minor aspect, but when you go through the trouble of making new blood elven chairs one would think that making sure that blood elves could sit properly on them would be a priority. For me it showed that Blizzard wasn't paying attention to the details any more.
Of course, the actual game played perfectly during beta and there was no NDA as well. I wonder what the point of that beta was anyway.

Details don't make money. Blizz isn't getting a lot of new faces to WoW so they need to concentrate on keep older players still playing. If someone is still playing WoW they've endured a shitty game that is boring as fuck at end game, so some animation problems will not scare them off.
Or eff yer uv 'an orky sortz, ya cayn spher sum shkulls on ya arma!
.___. .... I need to stay AWAY from this game until I'm either in the beta or it is released, before I paint myself green and run around half naked yelling WAAAGH!

Word is, a major part of the beta reset involved adding in more customization options. Not that they weren't planned, just not implemented, so players complained about it feeling like WoW. Everyone looked exactly the same.
do some of the zones you will be fighting for have like
high level resource that are specific to only a few zones, so you have to fight for it
juuust curious
I don't think they have said anything about trade skills yet. The game is still in the very early stages I mean they just announced the last Dark Elf class and I don't think they have any screen shots of him yet only concept art
So, how many Marauders do you think The Six Mouths are going to have at launch? Because, hot damn, I want to mutilate something with my gigantic mutant arm. Although even though Destruction has a stranglehold on me as far as the vast majority of Warhammer is concerned, Witch Hunter sounds fantastic.
So im really interested in warhammer online but im curious about some of the classes, specifically the Goblin Shaman.
Has anyone here tried it out that can describe the play style? Is it similar to say an Elemental Shaman in WoW where it is an offensive caster but also can heal? From the class description i get the impression that it is but i'd rather hear what it is like from someone that has tried the beta.

what the fuck
does anybody know a vague estimate of exactly how many people are participating in the closed beta?
Is this vague enough for you?

You can decorate your codpiece with the fingernails of your enemies and all that jazz.

perfect
That game was so terrible.
It needed work, and a lot of bug-fixing, but it was far from terrible.
