I stumbled on the same thing for at least 5 minutes too, don't feel stupid, just feel as stupid as I did.
yep, took me about 15 minutes until i gave up and checked a guide. boy did i feel stupid when it said "now hit the button beside the elevator to call it down."
Would someone be kind enough to help me with navigating the Fleet Hall section?
I'm in the lobby of Fleet Hall, but I can't seem to find a way into the bloody theater proper. The main door is sealed and unbreakable, the elevator door is fixed shut, and the prop/lighting/prep room access door is shut as well. Cohen (I'm presuming) is gibbering something about not being ready yet.
My concern is that there's possibly a glitch involving the elevator door. . .It appears to be open, but when I actually try to step in, the game *stutters* (for lack of a better word) and then the elevator cage doors spontaneously appear, blocking my path.
Thanks in advance for any helpful ideas.
There's a button to the left of the elevator you have to hit to call it down
I remember that part; (not a story spoiler)
you have to do something before the elevator will work but I can't remember what; pretty sure it's not a glitch though. *Edit Never mind; was thinking of something else.
Also (story spoiler for well past fort frolic)
the correct phrase is "would you be so kind as to..." but close enough.

Back on topic, do you disagree (urahonky) about the CPU being the bottleneck? Because I'd prefer not to shell out $170+fan for a chip that won't dramatically increase performance.
Without a doubt a dual core processor would make a huge difference (you'd probably be able to put everything on high, and run flawlessly), but I'd try an extra stick of memory first (if it doesn't help, return the memory). My Rig:
Athlon FX 60 Processor (dual core)
2GB Memory
Radeon X1950 Pro
Our video cards are about the same. So if you get the dual core processor I'm sure you can run the game on high settings.
Cool, thanks man. It looks like New Egg has an FX-62 for $170, which isn't too bad (though a nice quiet fan will run another $50, /sigh).
Although... it looks like I could get an Athlon 64 X2 4600+ Retail for $100... what's the difference between the X2 and FX series?
FX is far superior, I would definitely get the FX series. I think it has something to do with the FSB... I'm not quite sure, but from looking at benchmarks the FX series was designed for gamers.
EDIT: You'll be happy with the FX62 processor, that's a good price too.
The AMD 5600+ is basically an FX62 with lower thermal output for $150.

So...
are rocket turrets and machine gun turrets considered the same kind of turret for research purposes?
Please, anyone know? Do I need to take lots of pics of the machine guns and lots of pics of the RPG one for each seperate research category or is it the same object of research?
I am a bad person, when I see an acronym I am not familiar with (take for instances honkys fsb) I think it's some weird sex term, even when I shouldn't, is there some place that can help guys like me?

I just finished Fort Frolic. It's been my favorite area since the Medical Wing. The atmosphere is amazing (read: scares the shit out of me).
Gameplay spoilers, I guess:
OK, so the two best parts of Fort Frolic - and maybe even the whole game so far - have been in the liquor store and the atrium. In the store, of course, is the switch to the basement. But there's also that flooded room with the Power to the People station. I upgrade my shotgun, turn around - BAM. Statue splicer. I about had a heart attack. Then I introduced him to my new and improved shotty. Similar experience in the basement with the multiple statues.
Oh God, the atrium after you insert the 3rd death-photo. When Cohen sends those swarms of splicers at you and plays Waltz of the Flowers? I didn't use a plasmid the whole time, just the shotgun. That was some John Woo shit, man. I made a new save right after that so I can go replay that whenever I want. It was amazing.

I doubt you will do as well or as gracefully as your first time. That always happens to me. I polish it off and try it again later and it is just.... not the same. Not as much life to it. It often ends too soon too. Either with success or a failure.
My initial hypothesis has proven correct; one need only possess both the Telekinetic plasmid and the Electro-volt to make your way through this apocalypse of splicer lunatics and fiends. I've beaten 4 men and 2 women to death in the last 20 minutes using a single rancid sack of manure.
Science triumphs again.

Bleah. Just realized I have a Socket 939 board, which doesn't support Socket AM2. That'd theoretically limit me to a FX-60 or X2 4800+... but the only price I've found for a 939 FX-60 is $940 (!), and the only 939 X2 I can find is a 4200+. /sigh.
Check Tigerdirect, sometimes they have really good deals on that.
This just in: the 360 controller is practically designed for shooters.
I prefer a controller to kb+m
This just in: The KB/M is more accurate than a 360 Controller will ever be.
But let's not start this.
Bioshock rules on both the PC and 360. And the very least we can do a olol PS3 because they won't be able to play it.
I dunno man, I used to be ranked in Quake 2 in the olden PGL days, I was pretty handy with a KB/M in Q2 and Q3. When Halo came along I found it to be generally unplayable to my standard of accuracy. The original xbox controller felt like shit and contributed to my giving up on Halo early. The 360 controller works far better for me, I don't feel like I'm hobbled by it compared to a KB/M. I'm replaying games like Halo now and finding I'm a lot better at them with the newer controller. As good as a KB/M? No, but it's much closer, close enough to where I doubt there's a big difference unless you're in a competition and need every bit of everything you can get.

In the splicer battle, I used my AMAZINGLY USEFUL chameleon tonic and stood underneath my hacked security camera. I didn't fire a shot.
In poseidon plaza, with the never-ending spider splicers, I just enraged the Big Daddy, stood back, and took my pictures.
Also, Cohen is one tough mofo. I only managed to kill him by hacking a bagel vending machine, so when he went there, instead of his normal poppyseed twist, it gave him gentile bread.

It's not a plot spoiler just a gameplay one, it takes place in the area after the one you are in.

You're right, but the only problem is they don't show the FSB of each. Might have to look it up on HardOCP or something.

4.Houdini Splicer
5.Nitro Splicer
6.Bouncer
7.Rosie
8.Little Sister
9.Security Camera
10.Seurity Bot
11.Turret
EDIT:
Thanks LA:
All I have left is 5, 10, and 11. The security Bot can't be easy! I basically need to get alarms to occur on me! Shit! Vita-chamber.... HO!
The security bots are easy. Just hypnotize a Big Daddy near a security camera. You can have it take out the bots while you take pictures of them.
I realized that I am waaay behind on taking pictures of the Little Sisters.... dang it. I think I may be missing 2 whole levels.
I am at the end of Fort Frolic. Do I have many more Little Sister chances?
She called me Mr.Bubbles...
I will never have sex again.
That is all.
Did you rescue/harvest everyone before that?
If so: Maybe 5-8 more Little Sisters left.
