Man. Totally not impressed by that. Not at all. Yeah, pretty graphics. Show me that the game is fun to play by revealing gameplay footage or stop wasting my time, game company.

Graphics are one thing, but I am going to need some great character development and amazing story to get me hooked on the Final Fantasy franchise again. I am still hooked on FF: Tactics...

Yeah, I can agree with that too. I really do not give a shit about cutscenes that have nice lighting and lots of particle effects. Whoop-dee-fucking-doo. Show me that there's gameplay or a story or something I will care about, something that will stay with me after I'm done watching the actual graphical effects. I want meat here, not just a mountain of spices.

Have you tried the FFT remake on the PSP? It's amazingly good.

Someone told me there were issues with lag when casting spells. Is this true, and which spells exactly? Cause I was never a fan of the Wizardy stuff, so that doesn't bother me at all, but I do like using Yin Yang magic...

Lag? Ummm...no? There can be a dip in framerate, similar to the original FFT, but lag refers to delays in network play.

I got my new HDMI TV (OK, it's a computer monitor) last night. Gonna set that up soon. This weekend is pretty booked, though, so I might not have time to do it until Monday night or something.

They have other HDMI cables there, monoprice is a great site.. big box stores completley rip you off on cable prices.

Well, I personally didn't pay for it, and it doesn't cost $600 anymore, and seriously, what do you want? It's a console with a controller and cables. Do you want it to come with broadband internet service and a wireless router and a game and an HDTV and a better set of cables? The cables I just bought were under $3. The shipping was twice as much as the cables themselves. Yeah, it would be cool if Sony had thrown in the $3 cables. But seriously it's not a big deal.

Most places that aren't monoprice would charge you 30-50 bucks for that cable though.

It's not really a huge deal, but it is kind of funny that Sony makes a big deal about big shiny next-gen graphics and "true" 1080p HD.. but then dosen't even include HD-ready cables in the box.

Not everyone has a HDTV and/or could use HDMI cables. It does come with a standard video cable, and that's "all you need" to utilize it.

It doesn't come with a HDTV or surround sound system either....
or a chair to sit in or clothes to wear or a house to put it all in or 3 hookers to play with. Damn you Sony!

Monoprice 6-ft 28AWG with ferrite cores = $4.59 or so. I think I have 6-7 of them around here now. Imagine if I had paid Monster cable Ripoff price of what, $100 each? LOLZ.

I agree it would be cool to ship with HDMI cables and composite cables, so you support the lowest-end possible as well as the highest. Then the issue comes up, though, with "I have an HD set but no HDMI" or whatever. Ends up with Sony having to put 15 different cables in the box.

So then for the top-quality deal, you still gotta go buy an HDMI cable.
