Folklore demo: Why didn't anyone tell me this was Pokemon?

I didn't see a thread yet, so I figured I'd start one: The Folklore demo is out in the US now... I'm not sure if it's only until August 30th like it is in the UK.

Anyway, my twin brother is playing it and he's all like "Pokemone pokemon LOL!" I see his point. Beautiful game though.

WATCH OUT for that invisible force field at the starting point! You might just have to walk back around the other way. ;)

    Folklore demo... PS3 players have been waiting for it. It's out. Because it's only on the PS3, it's not like a BioShock demo discussion where forgetting to mention the platform matters (I prefer the PC versions whenever possible). As for exposure, did you miss the part where Gabe and Tycho called it the most beautiful game they have ever seen?

    The Forcefield thing is making fun of a stupid clipping that players will encounter at the beginning and it's intentionally vague so that people will encounter it.

    I have wanted to try this game for a while, but have been too lazy to create a Japanese PSN account.

    I enjoyed the demo, I had been watching the game since the first screenshots surfaced. The art/sound direction makes the game imo. You collect folks to battle with but thats where the pokemon similarities end - the combat here is much more satisfying.

    I do hope the final game is going to be good, I was very much looking forward to playing some Heavenly Sword but seems early reviews of it have put it at about 5-6 hours to complete and the combat was less than spectacular. At this rate the only game I'll be playing on the PS3 this holiday season will be Ratchet and Clank.
