I'm told that last year two lines form before PAX opens.
A general entrance line and the line for the expo floor.
Are the 4,000 concert bracelets given only to the general entrance?
I am planning to wait in the expo line, but I do want a bracelet.
Good info on this topic would be appreciated. Thanks.

Honestly I wouldn't expect to just be able to walk in and go straight to an exhibition hall line, you'll be standing in the entrance line for awhile. Particularly since this is the first day of PAX and they gotta make sure everyone gets through the registration lines.
i disagreed :P
Didn't want a concert wristband? Got there early anyhow? Fuck you! You still have to stand in the ONE big ass line if you want to get in. The willcall and reg lines were never hugely busy.

Looking at the empty space in the concert, I don't think it was really that big a deal. No one who showed without a band was turned away.
the friday night concerts typically aren't the powerhouses, anyway. tomorrow night's (i guess tonight's, at this point) concert will be much fuller.
btw, why steal my avatar idea?
It was just THAT GOOD! =D
It was because they didn't want people getting into the actual PAX areas early, I expect, and is way more organized than just having enforcers blocking an entire hall. As well, another reason people like to get there early is so they can be some of the first into the exhibition hall to try and get some of the first swag before it runs out.

See, I get that... but no one said anything but "that's the line for the concert bands" until about half an hour before opening. By which time you were stuck at the ass end of things. If they were doing one line, it would've been nice if they'd said that when we got our badges.
They could have done two lines, and let them through in alternating waves, just fine. And a whole hall *was* blocked off.

sorry you were misled, but that would've been pointless, considering wrist bands were just something they gave us as we were sitting around.
