Xbox Live & Backwards Compatibility. What's Up?
I just picked up a 360 for Bioshock (and of course, Halo 3 & Mass Effect) and was just wondering what Live Arcade games are worth dropping down money/points for? Also, what is the best way to get points, buy them on the cards, or just through the console?
A question about backwards compatibility: when I play an old game with pay download content (like Project Gotham Racing 2 or Links 2003) will I get charged for the premium content through the 360, or is it free?
Also, since Xbox Live is being a pain in the ass (their customer service has kept me on hold for thirty minutes at 8:30 p.m. pacific time on a Saturday night) I'm going to have to go with a new gamertag. Grumble grumble.
The website is currently not working for me, and the account transfer in the 360 doesn't work either. Eh, it's ok. I'll probably steal someone else's name here because I'm all out of originality.
Lumines is a blast. I didn't really like Space Giraffe.
the thing about lumines is I already own both PSP versions
what I am really asking is more like "is it worth getting it again? are the graphics and sounds all that much updated, and do online multi and achievements add that much to it?"
I WANT to get it. But the savvy consumer in me has fear that must be assuaged
Also, if I do get it, should I get ALL of the packs (for a total of 3,350 points) or are there some I ought to skip?

as far as worthwhile XBLA games, do folks think Lumines is worth it? I am really leaning towards picking that up, as well as Space Giraffe
As for what games are worth their asking price, that's a definate NO to Lumines and a resounding YES for Space Giraffe, Geometry Wars, Castlevania SOTN and Pac-Man CE.
I've had a question about BC for a while but I could never really convince myself that it was worth it's own thread so I guess this thread will have to do.
I believe that I read recently on this board that the 360 doesn't have a region lock on games. If this is not true, please disregard the rest of this post. If it is true, then my question is: Does the lack of a region lock apply to original Xbox games being played on the 360 as well? I'm living in Australia right now and there are a few Xbox games that I'd want to pick up (which I've already ensured were on the BC list) to play on my 360 at home, but if the 360 emulates an original Xbox to such a degree that it won't allow any non region 1 games to be played, there's no point.
Make multiple regional accounts, namely one in Europe, in the US, and one in Japan. You'll need these 3 accounts if you want to get the most out of demos.
For XBLA I'd probably buy (Well, I have bought [most of] these but they're the ones I'm glad I did, not the ones I'm not so glad about ):
Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved
Carcassonne
UNO
Bomberman LIVE
Worms
Pac-Man Championship Edition
Small Arms
Street Fighter II: Hyper Fighting
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Prince of Persia Classic

Anyone know anything about this?
Unfortunately it isn't possible to run (certain) non-PAL games on a PAL Xbox 360. For example I get an error message (region code doesn't match) while trying to play Phontom Dust (US-NTSC) on a german PAL XBox360.
Penny Arcade Adventures coming to XBLA, other games to wait for is Puzzle Quest , "Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo" and possibly SF2:HD (if they remove/change the SF2-turbo AI).
Um for XBLA games i would say Marathon: Durandal, it's an fps made by bungie, guys who made halo, and it's very enjoyable, oddly though its the second game in the trilogy of Marathon's which is kinda weird but it's pretty sweet none the less.
EDIT: Also I second the motion for dl'ing worms, very good game

Is that.. allowed? I don;t see why not though. hmm.
BTW, BC sucks. marvel Vs Capcom 2's BC is balls. I see spidey's hit box.

I second those bold ones. Some of the others I've played but am not a huge fan of.
Carcossonne I played the demo and am now determined to purchase it. I just wanted some kind of confirmation that the awesome continues. I will accept this post as such.
UNO is fun and, while it's nothing other than the obvious, you pretty much know if you want it or not right away.
Geometry Wars is great but I suck at it. Still pretty much required, though.
To back the truck up a little, can anyone elaborate on the question that was asked about Xbox Live Premium content for the original Xbox being downloaded to the 360? I have an original now, and am planning on getting a 360 in the future, so I was wondering how that will work with paid content.
Is premium content for Xbox games still being sold? Halo 2 eventually had all of the map packs (except for the newest two maps) for free. Anyway, if I pay for premium content on Xbox games, and then get a 360 later on, am I going to be boned out of the money I paid earlier?
I don't have any paid content yet but I might pick up the two new Halo 2 maps. Also, on a side note, what other Xbox games have premium downloadable content?

They can't stop you. I have 3 profiles for this very reason.
And another SF2 release? Jesus, Capcom is never going to stop milking that damn game.
