Can we get peoples locations for where the game is selling? Like stores/general location preorder or no?
Toys R US in Canton, OH and Cuyahoga Falls, OH don't have it. I haven't checked anywhere else since they're giving out the $20 gift card (which I'll use for Ghostbusters) with it.
CONS: Not much difference between different enemy types; some irritatingly drawn-out missions; some sudden jumps in difficulty.

Crackdown had, what, 2 types of enemies?
Dudes with guns.
Dudes with rockets.
Dudes with guns and lots of health.

So 4... and it was fun as hell.
Exactly this. On top of that, Crackdown had ... one move I used. That damn spin kick. I didn't get tired of that. So I don't see myself becoming bored with Whipfists, Hammerfists, Hulkfists, Clawfists, and Bladefist.
So, my TrU I called told me it wouldn't be coming out until sometime next week, when the ad is worthless for the free $20, so I'll be picking it up from gamestop. Gamestop told me there was a delay in shipment, and I can pick it up at 8:30 tonight... I'll get to play eventually though.
My main problem with Infamous, as much as I enjoyed it, is despite having superpowers I didn't actually feel... all that powerful. Sure, I can fling lightning around and knock cars about, but because the average gun toting hobo or junkie can take a good bit of damage I don't actually feel like I have superpowers. I may as well have been given a gun and a grenade launcher.
Which is why I'm psyched for Prototype, which looks to make you awesomely powerful.
By the same token, the gameplay I often saw of Prototype made the character look entirely too powerful. His health seemed to drop noticeably slower than Hulk's did in intense fights.
My comments on this, Normal difficulty:
I find it is pretty reasonable in that any individual enemy isn't really that dangerous, but if you are fighting an entire military division, you are seriously fucked if you don't evade properly. Late game you can definitely die fast if you get caught by cross-fire between multiple attack helicopters, tanks, missile troops, etc. The defense abilities help reduce damage considerably though, so being prepared is part of the battle.

Prototype has more, namely (Don't read if you are a guaranteed buy, IMHO, as a couple of these are a cool surprise):
4 types of normal soldier, super soldiers, 4 types of vehicle enemies, 2 types of humanoid infected, 2 types of hunters, and the claw things, plus a couple unique boss enemies. A couple of these are similarish, but it's not bad. The difference between normal and super soldiers is huge, however.

Where i live (not the states) there is a company that always try that shit "SAVE 20-50% ON THIS GAME THE FIRST WEEK OF RELEASE" and they never have any games within the time where you could save money on it, happened with GTAIV, Halo3, Fallout3, Fable2 etc. etc. Even got sued quite a bit for this misleading bullshit, but this is a strategy in use.

it looks like it unlocks right about when I get to the theater for my call... so not only will I have to wait 'till the day after tomorrow to play anyways, but I won't be able to start the download 'till I get home.

Can anyone just imagine for two seconds that inFamous doesnt exist, and tell me if Prototype is a great game or not by itself? Ya know... assuming it is physically possible to own BOTH the games and not worry about which is better for whatever reason.

If I were making videos and previews to show off a game, I wouldn't show the character dying because I took time to explain something.
Just noting, a lot of times the player will have infinite health or bonuses for preview videos.
Was kinda hoping my local EB would have it in today, but it was not to be. I still have RF:Guerrilla, Valkyria Chronicles, and Dwarf Fortress to keep me occupied.

Called a couple'a Game Crazys on a whim. Both had the game in stock, one said they "didn't know if they would have more than what was preordered" and the other said they "do have more than what was preordered, but not a lot, so get here as soon as you can". So, my wife's heading down there in an hour or so, hopefully they'll still have a spare copy.

Ok I picked up the game but I'm EXTREMELY pissed off at the pre-order bonus. Remember that EBstop people were going to get a full sized 7" Alex Mercer figure? What I actually got was a cheep 3 and a half inch imitation. What the fuck, didn't the site list all the details and have a picture of a really high quality figure? If somebody can get an archived image of that page I'd really appreciate it so that I can send an angry email to GameStop corporate, because this is bullshit and absolute false advertising. :x
