Agreed with the hair thing, but this is the haircut the writer wants. This is basically commission work, it's seven pages of pitch art for a comic miniseries, and I'll be doing the art if it gets picked up. So whatever he wants goes.
Hm, well, due to circumstances beyond my control, I am not working on that project anymore. So disregard those character designs, I guess. Here's a sketch of Frankenstein's monster, though, fresh for Halloween.
5-minute sketch of Cleo from "Wet Moon." Awesome book if you've never read it: http://www.mooncalfe.deviantart.com. Third volume comes out next week, I think.
Life isn’t divided into genres. It’s a horrifying, romantic, tragic, comical, science-fiction cowboy detective novel … with a bit of pornography if you're lucky.
I trolled wikipedia for you when they changed the name of Plane Dead to flight of the living dead....
I TROLLED FUCKING WIKIPEDIA FOR YOU!
Also, that movie sucked.
I apologize.
What happened was I got hired by Chimaera to do a superhero comic which ended up getting cancelled after I finished the first issue. It never came out (although I put a few pages from it up on my deviantART). By the time I was through with that it was months later and I had no desire to go back to Flight of the Living Dead and started working on The Sundays. Also that direct-to-video movie kind of killed my enthusiasm.
But I just re-read the thing a couple days ago and it's better than I remember it being. And since I plan on reprinting it, I figure I might as well finish it up. I still remember everything that was going to happen in subsequent issues.
If you're talking about the old pages, they were on my scottewenart.com website, which I've since deleted since I use deviantART as my art gallery. If you're talking about the new pages, they're showing up fine for me, but if you're having trouble you can go to www.serializer.net//comics/fold.php and see them.
Also, the pilots will be back, probably before the end of this chapter.
It took me out of it a bit when I saw the hands holding the staff in the first panel because they seem poorly constructed, but once I looked past that I enjoyed your pacing and the inks!
I am kind of curious will you sell this as a book?
Yeah, that's the reason I started this back up. I plan on getting an artist's table at a convention next spring, and I'm selling the first two issues of The Sundays there as well as doing sketches. So I figured, why not reprint the first issue of Flight of the Living Dead (I did a print-on-demand version back in 2007)? But the first issue is 24 pages and I finished 33 pages before giving up, so I decided to do three new pages and round it out to 36 pages.
But then I figured, if I'm going to the trouble of doing three new pages, might as well finish the fuckin' thing. The plan right now is to have the first two issues ready to go by spring (and have them available to order online as well), and then finish up the other three issues as I can.

Thank you. I know the hands suck on that page, but I literally went from a blank page to uploading it to the website in less than 5 or 6 hours. My plan with Flight of the Living Dead was always to do stuff quickly, not obsess about getting things perfect, and don't be afraid to experiment with techniques or styles I wouldn't normally use.
