Will I run into Ceanataurs soon, or should I just go for another type of armor for now?

Yeah, being aware of your range will determine whether you win or lose; you don't ever want to be in range where he can hip check you. Although with the tail swipe you can run between his legs, the check, if you're too close...you're just fucked.
oh man, for anyone who needs monster fluid, make sure to get tanya's boat at the pokkefarm as soon as possible and send him to the jungle with the highest amount of pokkepoints you can. I've gotta about 10 monster fluid from him so far. I've also got sinister cloth a few times. o_o

I think the big boss cenatuars/hermitaurs drop them. Not the piddly 2-hit dudes
edit: also get the pig and do the little love minigame, then do a quest. You more rare stuff methinks. One time I got 27 machalites from a map. Works on Hides/claws/everything for the rewards page, too I think.

Fuck yeeah. Killed the Kushala Daora in four rounds using the Master's Sword Replica and a +20 Wind Press set featuring the Diablos helmet and gloves, the Black Diablos chest, Chrome Metal Tasset and Leggings, and a healthy amount of Wind Press jewels. Downside is that I have slightly bad drop luck, which explains my lack of ELDER DRAGON BLOOD.
Without the fact that Kusha can toss you around and hurt you with every gust of his wind, he's actually a bit of a chump. I would have used other weapons but I needed something with two slots. I had JUST enough slots to raise the bonus to 20.

Yay, I just killed my first clown dragon at 30 hours in.
I made a run at the Khezu yesterday. I lasted a good long time against him but he got me eventually.
FINALLY made my death scythe and can actually farm a kut ku now. So awesome. I can't wait to upgrade it to the Crimson thing. But where do I get a bloody horn from?
the first does hardly anything, the second is 0 damage but gets rid of it

Man your telling me, especially when he enrages and does that shit back to back , several times. Other than that, he's just a slightly annoying Kut ku, not really hard. I had to kill him 5 times to get 2 light crystals to upgrade my lance to Rampart. I hope theres a better source of light crystals in the future....
other than that, I 1 shot the blue Kut ku and his red friend in the 3 star elder quests. I'm sure once I kill plesioth I'll get the urgent quest to upgrade to 4 stars, I've just been avoiding him is all BTW, is he weak to any element? I have a res saber which I've been using to plow through things, but if he's not weak to fire I'll give my Rampart a test run.

I just gunned down Green Plesioth. I got so good with my Injector Cannon, it's awesome. Didn't use all too much ammo either. Daora Gunner armor is nice too.

I've been getting lightcrystals from mining in the swamp. I think. Guess I've just been lucky
So any suggestions on good armor/weapon for Khezu? I just have my Death Scythe and a smattering of stuff for armor, whatever would give me good defense rating.
Once you've fought Khezu a few times you really don't need all that much armor. All his attacks are easy to avoid. The real key to beating him is not to take stupid chances, becuase if you get caught in one of his attacks you will usually be unable to recover before he can hit you with another one, which will either kill you or take you damn close.
You're fine as far as a weapon goes, just make sure you pack a lot of whetstones, because it is extremely important to keep that death scythe at maximum sharpness. Fighting against dragons sharpness doesn't just mean more damage, it also helps you hit in the first place. A lower than maximum sharpness will mean lots of your attacks will be deflected on certain parts of the body. I suggest using the triangle + circle attack on Khezu frequently, because it's a wide range slash and moves you back a few paces. If done correctly it can take you out of Khezu's electrical field attack range easily.

I hate to tell you this but killing Plesioth isn't one of the requirements to get the urgent for 4* elder.

What I do is track him down to Area 3, then, armed with a bow, I just whittle him down with a bow, standing on the ledge with the egg nest. Fend off the Giaprey and proceed to plink him down. It's not foolproof, since he can kill you with the electric leap attack at about 40% health or so. Works pretty well in multiplayer with a melee person to lure him around, though it is quite slow, unless you've a beefy bow.
You folks having Khezu problems, I HIGHLY reccomend the Youtube video. He is cake once you get patient. I tried him once, and lost. Watched the video, and now I can take him without bringing ANY extra stuff with me.

The only sorta nice thing I can see about the Black armor set is that each piece has two slots.
You folks having Khezu problems, I HIGHLY reccomend the Youtube video. He is cake once you get patient. I tried him once, and lost. Watched the video, and now I can take him without bringing ANY extra stuff with me.
He uses one combo I didn't know about otherwise that's what I was doing. I'm totally gonna get him tonight.
So today I'd planned on building up my weapon power. Right now I intend to get a Devil Slicer (the thunderbug juices will be annoying as hell. :x ) and one of the Wyvern Blades. But I'm not sure which. Should I go for Fire or for Poison? Which will help we more in the long run against elder wyrms and the like?
Edit: Oh, also, all the guides for the thunderbug juice mention the elder in the jungle. Which one is it? The one on top of the cliff in the starting area?
Has anyone actually found a way to DO them? I can't find them anywhere after I download them. And there's a queen vespoid as big as a Yian Kut Ku in one of them.

Khezu gives flabby hides so
luckily he'll just nudge you or fly into the air
