Get Your Book On, Fool!

Its that time of year when young men's thoughts turn to that of fancy... fancy book learnin', that is.
I'm going back to school and I'm excited about it. Who else is bettering themselves in edumacation?
Post, denizens of the Cocklounge, and let your goals be known!
I am going to Digipen to learn to be one of those newfangled game programmer-motrons.
I am in my second week already, and man this shit is getting old.
But then again I am in a fairly unique postion(like the back seat of a volkswagon) I am an information systems major. I am almost done with my degree... the information systems program was part of the comp. sci program. Well it ran out of money to support two "schools" so the school of business bought us out and now I have to take a shit ton of accounting and marketing classes bullshit. Tom is not a happy camper!
edit: I go to UND the school thats in the middle of suing ncaa to keep its native american logo

A magician wandered along the beach, but no one needed him.
I was going to go back to school for the winter semester.
Then EA hired me.
So, I got the job without any schooling.
So suck it conventional thinking.
My roommate didn't even finish high school.
He's making around $50k a year (probably more) as the IT/IS Manager of the company we both work for.
Hell, he barely has an certifications. What he does have is about 6 years experience in the field, which is a fuck of a lot more impressive than a piece of paper.
He's doing the night classes thing to get his business management degree when he has the spare time.
I don't have a college degree and I'm doing alright. Not fantastically, of course, but I'm getting tons of experience in print media and after six months at my current job I'm already being moved up.
Dumb Hero I totally envey your roomate... wish i had a full time it job instead of the part time one I have now
He's worked for it. The company he's been working for since he was about 16 (part time, then full) did IT setup for all manner of business and did their support as well. He would be driving up and down the south florida coast to do service and support work. The company we work for now used to be a client of theirs, till they hired him away from his old job.
The offer was lucrative enough to stop him from going on a year-long backpacking trip across Europe.
He is my sugar daddy.

wow i looked for it too
apparently they need to teach me to read, first.
I'm not sure what the difference is, but from my friends in the industry, they look favorably on Digipen. The schools like the awful one with the "YOU HAVENT MADE THE NEXT GAME YET" / "TIGHTEN UP GRAFIX IN LEVEL 3 DURF" ads... are more of a joke.

I was a QA Manager at my last job and have 7 years experience.
Going into programming though (also interested in design) because of the "I'm not listening to you because you're just a tester" attitude too many people have.
Yeah, I may be "just a tester" but my idea is good and yours is fucking stupid. So soon I will have a degree and title so you have to come up with better excuses than that. Also I will get to make neat games, pew pew.

No I am his only sugar baby. We're pretty much brothers, and the way he sees it, with the cash he makes he doesn't mind picking up the tab at a meal or a movie cause he knows that I'd do the same for him, and do so, when I can afford to.

Finishing up a BFA in Interactive Media Development in June of 2008.
However, due to a series of clerical errors and circumstance, I have been promised by the department head that we can choose what we want our degree name to be on our diploma.
I thought he was joking, but I asked him, and he was serious.
I am going to Green River Community College this year to finish my AA transfer to WSU. For my general goals at WSU I will be going for a masters in American Studies, hopefully on a full ride.
I expect Oprah to be receiving my letter any time now.
Actually I am somewhat mad because I got my grades back from Summer Quarter and i am .01 away from Honor role. I am going to talk to my Psych professor to see if he can raise my grade for his class to a 3.6

I will maybe be going to classes at the local FAU campus in the spring.
Get my Journalism Degree.
Then uh...move to Seattle.
And hang my Degree in Nap's office.
I want a basement apartment - being high up without A/C is crap.
As those of you who experienced my party situated in the middle of Burning Hades Itself may be aware.

Is it Fullsail or something that's not so good?
My roommate didn't even finish high school.

4 (5) years of rape just so i can have some homo hand me scribbles on a napkin and say "MAKE THIS WORK"
Fullsail is, indeed, the bad one.
if neville was cool though he'd be going to Ex'pression
This business degree better earn me the big bucks.
then probably a graduate diploma of secondary school education
then a high school teacher
What's the difference between the two?
Shittier teachers at Fullsail? Less up to date hardware/software? Shitty program?

except I'm a QA Manager.
And I don't have anywhere near 6 years experience in the field.
no comment on pay.
I could go in-depth, but the program is shitty and they have a tendency to hire students fresh out of the program to come back and teach there.
Can they do that? Jesus.
