You know, I've only been to the Hillcrest area twice in my entire time here. Once was for a performance at a church, and the other was to eat at this place called Hash House a-go-go or something like that. The gay club scene is too frightening for me.
I lived in Azusa for about 72 hours once. After realizing that the millions of cockroaches weren't going to move out of my apartment, I decided to move out instead.
I have lived in Hollywood, CA for a year now. So far...
Pros: I can walk to Grauman's Chinese, Amoeba, the Arclight, the Sunday Farmer's Market at Hollywood and Vine (way better than the Grove), and my local Ralph's (so long as it's not too late), which is awesome. I work within a 10 minute drive of my apt. Mulholland Drive from Laurel Canyon to Outpost is probably the coolest drive home ever.
Cons: The frighteningly large number of crazies, tourists (which, honestly, I usually don't mind unless I am trying to get to Famima! and the fuckers REFUSE to walk like normal people), Highland Ave., and the fact that I have to do some elaborate tribal dance to coerce my lamer friends in the Valley to even entertain the thought of coming to my side of the hills.
um, PA party? Can I come?
please?
HAH! I used to live on Morella right off Lankershim and Burbank.

Man, I miss that place.
I'm in Culver City and fuck if I'm going to drive to downtown LA.
I used to work in Sherman Oaks. Right next to the Gelson's Grocery. Fuck that place was expensive. Good food, though. There was a Ramen house in the little strip mall right there. Oh man they had the best fried rice
Haha, the Corvette Diner. That place brings back memories.
The Indian place I like to go to in the gaslamp apparently has another place in the Hillcrest area that does a daily lunch buffet. I've always wanted to find the place and use it for delicious gorgings.

Acually I take this back
The people I knew who lived there were cool
It was just the people at Gelson's that were douches
Then again so were the people at the Gelson's in Santa Barbara
I think it's probably just Gelson's
Cogi,
Did you ever go to that ratty 50's diner across the streets?
They had good milkshakes
Monterey is an ok place I guess. Only real downside is the fact it's constantly foggy, sometimes you'll walk into a store and it's all bright and sunny then come out 30 minutes later and it'll be like you're in silent hill or something.
yeah it's not bad here, The weather stays pretty constant year round not too hot not too cold, and it's close to San Francisco, Santa Cruz and such, so there is always something to do.
Downtown blows dick.
Pasadena is full of pretentious pricks. I can't stand being there very long. I went to Santa Anita Mall yesterday. Since when the fuck did malls get valet parking. It's a fuckin' mall.
Starfuck on

God, I haven't been to The County of Orange in so long.
But speaking of Orange County, there's this place down there called Bonker's, I think. Or Boomer's. Something like that.
$20 for unlimited arcade games, go-kart racing, and laser tag. Off the motherfucking chain.

Boomers used to be the only place with a beatmania machine for like 50 miles
I don't think I'm going to like LA when I eventually move there.
