The types of stereotypical southern foods that I do like-

    biscuits & gravy
scrambling eggs in the grease from the sausage
    cornbread
black eye'd peas and grilled porkchops

Not the "oh god it's deep fried my southern pride" crap

    Texas barbecue is lame anyway.

I mean it's still better than whatever the local Pacific Northwest cuisine is.

    Boiled plaid flannel or something.

I'll admit the Mexican food up here isn't as good as you can get at places like the hole-the-wall joints where my parents live near the Mexican border but the wider variety of options more than makes up for it in my opinion.

Really though this shouldn't even be a point of argument, it's a matter of taste and experience with different cuisines.

Shit I think I just set off the Druhim beacon.

Man, my initial riposte to your statement on food preferences was, "You're gay." At what point did you think this was a serious or valid argument about anything?

    hardly.

how about the top rated steakhouse in the country? Took Summer there, blew Delmonicos and Morton's out of the water.

Holy shit, this is where I had my first job (but they relocated since then).

I washed dishes for this guy, Bob White... who was a cool dude.

But his wife fucking hated me for some reason.

.... And I am going to Dragon*Con, for whoever asked.

Yeah, Atlanta has pretty large Hispanic and Asian communities, and as such has some pretty good representatives of their food. Being a metropolis it also has some fairly high caliber restaurants in general.
Some of my favorite places in town are Cuban.

That being said, my favorite foods are Cajun and Creole. I was born in Louisiana. It's the food I grew up on.

I just brought up Southern food in general, because people want to act like the whole country isn't filled to the brim with stupid, racist white trash and blame it all on the South.

In n Out kills any form of fast food in Atlanta. Sad but true.
