One would think that living 2 hours from the mountains and 3 hours from the ocean would mean a huge hiking/biking scene and lots of beach trips. But it just doesn't play out like that at all when it comes to Atlanta. Atlanta social life is mostly "indoor cat", except for sporting events. Midtown (where I live) is turning into condo canyon, which is killing the vibe that drew the condo developers here in the first place. Crime has also been escalating since Katrina, and the construction and development has caused the criminal element to become more concentrated in specific pockets.

These fucks are always running around with mountain bikes, kayaks, and assorted shit strapped to their vehicles.

I like that area a lot better then the area I live in (very suburban area about 5 miles north of you).
I miss living in the city, but at least it isn't too far away.
Excited as shit about Dragon Con though.

right off 400.
easiest way is to turn off roswell road right before the bridge across the river. Drive along the river on riverside drive, then turn into the area from there.

Man, you need to look out your window more. Atlanta has a huge biking scene, as well as several other social movements going on.

I can kind of understand most people in the Atlanta area complaining of the increased density and its component issues that are criticial to a properly developing metropolitan area, because they're idiots, but man, Midtown has been like that forever.

Meet me on my vast veranda
My sweet, untouched Miranda

I'm coming up either on thursday or friday.
I could come up thursday, but I might elect to pick up my friend's girlfriend from B'ham on the way (I'm going to ATL for his birfday, you see)

You can get better deals than that in town as far as size/price if you're willing to live in some of the transitional gentrification neighborhoods and don't want a new construction.
Edit: And you can get rock bottom prices if you're willing to live south of 20.

it's gonna be all kinds of rad
I always have a great time at Dragon*Con.
I'm just not up for going to a convention two weekends in a row, and I don't think there is anything there I want to do anyway.

Run a train on Sars-boy?
I guess he's at Dragon Con right now, eh? I guess I should have at least stopped by, it's looking like I'm not doing anything at all this weekend.

So getting together there is definately an option.
Failing that, I'll only be in ATL for Sept before they herd us off to CA. So we'd have to meet up somewhere.
dinner type deal.

That's what you all said.

If we stay it'll be in Buckhead.
I'll rent for the first year, as my current home needs to sell first.... Summer has to move down... blah blah blah
Those 3 towns seem to be nothing but nice-ass homes for rent.
Oh, next weekend. I'll be down in Savannah for NG drills next weekend. :x
And where I live is closer to Buckhead than Marietta is, crazy man.

I don't mind a commute if I can live in a mansion for an affordable rent.
Also, get on AIM fag.
My sweet, untouched Miranda

We fall but our souls are flying
because.... Holy Shit
