Funny thing is he did call my parents at around 1 am. Boy they were pissed (at him)
I am a sophomore (a wise fool) in college. I was 3 1/2 hours away. So they were quite confused. I explained to them, and they understood.
Point is, I did get screwed, I did not slander, except for calling him a bad name or 2, and a few curses.
I am only posting this voice mail cause it is my legal property. It was left on my voice mail, if there is some reason I cant post this recording legally let me know. But as of now I don't think it should be a problem.

Crap. I actually feel sorry for him now. That was pathetic.

"It is inhumane, in my opinion, to force people who have a genuine medical need for coffee to wait in line behind people who apparently view it as some kind of recreational activity."
Ed, if you're reading this... chill out. It's time to take a step back and re-evaluate your life choices. What brought you to this point? Is lowering yourself to the level of a slimeball the right way to promote this expo of yours? Have you come clean about your Vegas Excursions with your wife?
Remember, what happens there stays there, unless you dragged it home with you on your camera-phone.
I'm a bit worried that this thread has gone from a generalized "lol" to a personal vendetta. I don't like seeing our community draw claws, even over douches like Uwe Boll and Jack Thompson. We need to be better than them, not drag them over the coals and spit on them--it just fuels their opinion that we're not worth respecting.
But yeah, I still think he's a douche. And yes, occasionally I get clawful (and hypocritical) too.

Perhaps I have been remiss in my reading, but I have not seen anyone here truly dragging Fleming over the coals. It seems to me that he has been doing all of the dragging and we're just reveling in the comedy of it all.
Honestly, if he handled things differently/better this whole issue would have come and gone with little more than a PA news post and a short thread on the forums. If you review the forums closely they seemed to be dying out until he re-ignited the fires once again with his foul party tricks.
Perhaps he's more sly a marketeer than the slovenly, womanizing, drunk character that he seems to be. Perhaps he truly believes that any press is good press and just wants to keep conversation going for his expo, one way or another.
Then again, perhaps he's just another troll. ;-] The world may never know.

The way I see it (and yes, I'm a cranky grown-up) it's gone a little more mean-natured than reveling. Skulking has some personal issues with him (quite possibly justifiable ones--I too have been dicked over in wages as a young adult) but that's making the whole thing more of a lynching than I like.
PAX should be about community, empowerment, and joy, not spitting in the eyes of our enemies. (Even if they really deserve it.)
But seriously, I'm not a mod. Just because I'm uncomfortable with it doesn't mean that I can stop people from posting what they want. There's some legitimate dislike of Fleming, which is fine, I just prefer things to be less blood-thirsty than they have been. See "cranky grown-up." I'm also a little afraid that Ed's going to go and do something stupid to himself or someone else if we keep picking on him. There's only so much humiliation a guy can take before going "poink!"

I keep starting to write a long, prose-y post, but it really comes down to this. Shortly after we closed the doors on PAX, I started feeling kinda bad for Ed. Yeah, he screwed up. Yeah, he did make a fool of himself. But given the consequences, it's gotta suck pretty bad to be Ed right now, and it's gonna be a while before it stops sucking to be Ed.
Maybe I'm wrong, maybe he's worse than I wanna think, but getting called out on the Penny Arcade news page is powerful punishment and I felt like that was enough. (I'm not saying he didn't deserve it, just that man, it seems like enough to me.)
Now, e4empty? It's gonna be at least a few more weeks before that stops being funny to me.

Amen! Heh. God bless PAXers and their sense of humour.

Sept. 27th to the 30th at the Javits Center in NYC
It is a very nice con and has many developers there of current games with almost no lines. Last year I was able to meet the developers of Hell's Gate London and Age of Conan. Both had playable versions of their games available too. Microsoft and Sony both brought it hard last year with a fuckton of stations. WGL held some pretty big tournaments, Smash Bros to name one of the better ones. There were also tournaments held by Nvidia and Dell , CS:S and others. So that was cool. If anyone is interested please check this out over the VGXPO as an extremely better alternative. Oh and I still believer there is a student discount too for the ticket purchase, also a plus.

I was thinking of attending this... maybe just for Saturday, though. I'm definitely interested in hearing from anyone else who's going.
