Oh goddamnit, DoA, go back to your keyboardless hole.
But Gooba, won't you have more fun with higher quality opponents?
I imagine playing DoA is what it's like to play against me, only a bajillion times more annoying.
Heh, actually I played a few against him the other day. I lost horribly but I learned from it.
Was the lesson "Don't play against DoA"?
Heh, more like don't sit there watching the battle when you should be pumping out an ASM squad, and it may not be a bad idea to reinforce your squads if you are in a tough battle right at the beginning.
Yeah, Eldar aren't specialized anymore. DRs are the basic unit, HBs are the melee, WS are the super good hard cap unit, and FDs are AV.
Hmm... DRs are good anti-infantry, but rather expensive. Also, if caught in melee (by raptors for an example) you get a big problem. A lot people actually rather go with guardians - but i have to admit i prefer reapers myself. HBs are also rather specialized vs ranged units HBs can not stand up to other melee units very well, they are simply to frail. The howl improves this a bit but not by much (quite a lot melee is simply morale immune or can replenish morale like ASM). WS are... useful but not the best hardcap unit around, thats why you get three, they are also rather anti infanr - can be armed with grenades to overcome occasional fortifcations/vehicles but you can not solely rely on them. The grenade cooldown is simply to high to deal with more than one vehicle efficiently. FDs are AV/basewreckers, yes.
But compared to SM (i know thats a unfair comparision, but comparing oen end with the other probly lines out what i am talking about best) wich can be outfited with plasma (allround), heavy bolters (anti infantry), missiles (AV) and flamers (morale/melee) and can as well put up a decent melee performance (as well as being able to restor morale if you give them a squad leader) Eldar units are heavily specialized.
Or lets compare guardians to cultists. Eldar guardians do their range thin with special abilities - maybe sometimes in an exceptional case be called to melee (scouts maybe, surely not necron warriors). Cultists can double as melee to act as disruption/meatshield or can use nade launchers to attack from behind.
I admit the hard counter system DOW had orginally was softened up somewhat, but there are still a lot weapons doing better against a certain breed of unit than another one (with all those armor types and wepon tables no surprise). Not as inflexible as they were but still inflexible.

Actually, I need to learn how to use Chaos and not die.
I'm just wondering if theres any assigned time you guys meet on vent... that would be sweet. Sitting online all day waiting for mans dosen't seem too efficient.

They seem to start playing around the time I hit the sack and finish around about when I wake up for work.
Dammit Relic, when will you tell us how you are busy working on DoW2?
When Opposing Fronts is released in November, Relic will have no accounced projects running (though they are known to be working on at least 2 unannounced projects). That state of affairs wouldn't last for long, I imagine.
Plus the teaser at the end of the DC campaign states 2007. So before the year is out, hopefully.

Actually, DoA is really helpful for learning how to play. He doesn't pull punches and overall he's helpful.

That's pretty much the best description of my play style.
Seriously, come and play
Well....as long as you know what to expect.
EDIT: You know to get in Vent, right?
seriously
On a slightly different note - goddammit I suck, I need to play this game more often again.

It happens very, very fast for me.
FUCK YOU
FUCK YOU AND YOUR FUCKING WARP FUCKING SPIDERS RIGHT IN THEIR FUCKING FUCK FUCK!
2 full nob squads with 2 heros and 3 shoota boyz fully enforced? killed by 2 warp spider squads in like 1 min? FUCK THAT.
good game though
I mean, Khorne Berzerkers are great and all, but Cultists.
Blood for the blood god! Woo woo woo!
Equip them with flamers. And oh yes... zerkers are used with the sorcerer, research chains for him so enemy units can not flee.
And fuck chains. My poor rangers were born to run free, not be kept in chains like some human.
I rely too much on vehicles
When/Why the hell did you edit that in?
Lols get better timezone nub.
For anyone who watches those replays of me and Goomba, a good theme to listen to in the background is Benny Hill's.
No, probably not.
The vent info is especially secret and only the coolest people get to know it.
