I'm new to this forum but you guys seem to know an awful lot. Hopefully you can help.
I'm trying to arrange a games night with my friends. The plan was to connect 2 xboxes and play on a couple of big screens. Unfortunately, I just found out that one of the xboxes in question doesn't work anymore. I've recently been thinking about getting an xbox 360. My question is, can I hook up an xbox and an xbox 360 directly to each other and play Halo 2 and other xbox games or do I need an xbox live account?
By the way, LAN games also work on PS2 - to - PS3, if that question should ever come up. The beauty of back compat. Haven't tested it yet, but I'm sure it works.
on some of them you need to host with either the Xbox or the 360. I forget which game it is, but it needs to have the host on one of them, so if a game doesn't work try hosting with the other console.

Works like a charm.
But - only for Xbox 1 games that are backwards compatible with 360, like the aforementioned Halo 2.
So, yeah - Halo 2 Xbox to Xbox 360 works just great.
