Why would college football be better than pro football or vice versa?
It all looks the same to me.
Also, what does college have to do with playing sports? That is gay.
it's just another source of income for the school, so they give students scholarships to play, or they just pay them with cars and other expensive shit, like reggie bush...
and yes, they're pretty much the same
look: i don't think they should be given a free ride because they are football players. All i'm saying is, college football, in and of itself--isn't a bad thing.
no, only that a school's extra-curricular activities shouldn't overshadow the real reason that the school is there: education.
and if someone who is only good at sports wants to make a living off of it, go ahead and do it, i enjoy watching sports too, but sadly college is one of the few stepping stones to any serious sports career

agreed, in fact, UW is going to kick some ass this year, like they did last night...
i find college football to be more entertaining because the kids are really giving it their all--they want to go pro, or for school spirit, or because they still find the game to be fun.
The pros seem to do just enough to get the job done, but don't have as much fire. If that makes sense at all.
Awesome, what UW Madison really needed was a game today, because everyone who moved in Thursday hasn't already been completely fucking smashed for 40 hours already
man I do not like college ball, but I love the NFL
is that odd?
Nah, I'm the same way to a degree. I'll go to my Uni's games (can't wait for tonight) because I love watching football in general. Not to mention free beer and bbq with friends. Love tailgating, love going to the games, the atmosphere and all.
Reasons I don't like college ball
- A lot of times it's sloppy football. See the LSU v MS State game Thursday night? First half was some awful football. Then LSU actually started playing. I was so happy to see State get slaughtered though. Just horrible football, QBs making their mind up about who they're throwing to before the snap and etc.
- Media coverage. There are a huge number of schools with teams in this nation. Yet all, any national media, has to talk about it maybe 10-15 schools if that. There are a lot of good teams and great games that go on that never get any attention. Now ESPN has an entire show dedicated to those 10 or so teams. USC, Ohio St, Michigan, Notre Dame, LSU, Florida, Louisville, Oklahoma, the usual.
You can say, "Oh NFL players are just there to get paid and don't care about the game. College players are all passion" Well that's bullshit. Some NFL players do play for the money but it's just my opinion that most aren't there just for that, especially the veterans. Veterans have made their money. A lot of college players are playing with the intent to impress and are really out there trying. That doesn't mean they're good and that doesn't mean all of them are playing for love of the game. Hell, I know a lot of times players in college just quit the team all together if they lose their starting job. Rather than try to get better or keep at because of love of the game, hey I'll just quit all together
The NCAA is retarded. Schools won't change their curricula, because going through the NCAA re-certification process is a bitch. And high schools can't branch out at all from the basics, and end up getting fucked, because the NCAA will disqualify their students from participating if they don't take exactly the right courses.
So, the NCAA is largely dictating education methods in this country.

everybody, Air is right.
Call off the thread.

Sports generate a crowd who give their money to the school.
The school pays people to come to the school to generate even more crowds and even more money.
Are you also saying that people who are only good at sports should not be able to make a career out of it?

Except for that post right there, huh?
is that odd?

Also, you get bonus points for having the packers in your avatar.
But that conversation is for a thread that'll be along Thursday or so.

It's probably one of the best things ever.
He needs to flee the state if he wants to stay alive.
Or maybe East Lansing will harbor him.
So I guess what you're saying is you have no idea what a vagina looks like?
Weren't you like, considering a gender change or some shit?
